It's Pruitt's deal 100%, so most of the "usual" people are in the dark. I've heard pretty consistently that it's not (and was going to be) Freeze. No idea who it will be.

I love CJP and am proud he’s our coach....but...dang - represent! If I walked past him at this high school, I’d have no clue what university he represents...am I overreacting?

Not disagreeing with you at all. I noticed it as well. But, from what I’ve seen, the dude rocks the T in almost every picture I see. Reminds me of last year when some people were concerned that Pruitt wasn’t wearing enough Orange. We all know he’s a great recruiter. UT has a lot to offer, but so do many other schools. To get these recruits bought in Pruitt needs to sell himself as a product first. I feel like he is doing just that. With that said, Texas burnt orange fleece with hunter green pants is about as ugly as you could do.

If he wanted HF, he would have been hired by now.

No reason to wait.

But he likes HF. But he also likes CL.

His heart is probably saying go with the guy you know but he is having problems pulling the trigger because of the upside with HF.

Tough choice really.

Looks to be Freeze or Lindsey with Freeze still getting the nudge. With Mel leaving Trezman is in the boat as well as Pappoe and Watson. Also with Mel leaving Nolan may end up a vol. Bogle is still in the balance. Cox may be gone, no longer signing early. Maurer is still committed. May have forgotten some things.
Edit: Norton is very likely to flip now as well with Mel leaving.

If Pruitt hires Freeze, then he's at UT 1-2 years tops if UT gets it rolling. In the same way, that's all he'll be at a rival school. Even if he goes to Bama, they'll be hard to beat next year with Tua anyway. I don't see where Hugh would want a head coaching job outside of the south, but I don't know what SEC school would get rid of their existing coach in the next year or 2 that would go after him except Auburn or maybe LSU.

With Lindsey, if in 1-2 years UT gets it rolling, then he is probably gone to take a non-Power 5 school as well. The modern college game has changed so much that at best we should hope to see the same assistants in place for 3 years. There's just too much mobility and too much money being thrown around for assistants not to move. I'd like to look in February after Signing Day and see how many SEC schools didn't have to make any changes on their coaching staffs. I bet it won't end up being very many that don't.

I hope Pruitt enjoys having to try and stop him with all those toys. I know what Freeze can do with an offense, he has obliterated some great defenses. I have no idea what Chip can do. I guess he is alright, but I just don't get passing on a offensive coaching talent like HF who wants the job, for a comfy buddy.
