Another reason I want Freeze, as I think the above scenario is at the very least, reasonably possible

Yea Brent mentioned Schiano about 500 times and Mullen 400 times. If chip Kelly takes the Florida job, Mullen is probably our coach and Currie is still our AD.

I don’t remember ANYONE saying Schiano until the day before or maybe even that Sunday morning. Admittedly, I don’t follow VQ as much but I thought Schiano caught everyone off guard.

VQ was. Charles Davis was doing the Ohio St game, I think the day before or the morning of when it all went down, and said Tennessee fans should pay attention to the game. That got posted and everyone still laughed it off.

Agree with nash/Ron; Freeze, Lindsey, Enos - that's a win for the Vols. They may move on in a couple years, but the system and players will be over the hump and winning. I can imagine the buy out with Freeze would be hefty if he were to leave early on. You need an OC willing to accept the current O-staff due to the contracts and familiarity with CJP.

The perfect time to announce is right before the SECCG IMO. Get the buzz from the commentators talking about it during the game. Regardless - it needs to happen sooner rather than later for recruiting. Got to think HB committing is an indication he knew something.

Why do folks think Saban is going to hire Freeze? Where is this coming from?

He reportedly wanted to hire him last year and the SEC office said no. But that is quite contradictory in that the SEC office never says no to Saban.

UT is taking on all the liability in this deal. Either he agrees to our terms to give him a second chance or he finds another job. Simple as that.

He’s not worth compromising for financially - especially considering we’re already compromising morally.

Kind of shows that people flip out at partial or fake news and starts a rant and blows up twitter. We don't let people do the job they are hired to do. I guess we know what is best. I agree we should let our voice be heard but we need to make sure the information we are fed is true.

Well, it hasn't been that long since the people that were hired to do the job chose Shiano, and fans are still concerned about Haslam's influence. Some media members are taking advantage of that, or being fed false information.

Kiffin’s program was saddled with scholarship restrictions, a bowl ban and most importantly, middling results on the field. Freeze beat Saban twice, had a top 3 recruiting class and a Sugar Bowl appearance...different success levels.

I was living there also but that info was brought over. We were all like, “ah, no way, that would be the dumbest hire ever - it would only take Curry ten minutes to vet him.” We just didn’t believe until our friend in the athletic department made sure it go out to the right media guy. I think Kiffy's star is fading... he did't pop up on anyone's short list at the end of this season to my knowledge...

Its Freeze, guys. Pay attention to VQ and NOTHING else during coaching searches. Those guys told us no Gruden constantly and said Schiano over and over during the search. Now they've been saying Freeze with Lindsey and others AFTER talking Freeze. If you read the VQ tea leaves Freeze has been the guy all week. No doubt in my mind.

Would be cool for an announcement today but if not today should be tomorrow or Monday, IMO.

Gruden was NEVER an option. Freeze is. They can only squash something that is patently false. Parallels can’t really be made. Freeze may or may not be hired.
