Those are Bruin problems...not real world. Mel Tucker’s got a bit more on his resume than Sherrer...including NFL DC experience. That helped him as a HC last year and this one more than not having “co” on his title.

I agree with that which is another reason why Sherrer might want to move is he aspires to be a HC

Same reason Birmingham does anything — to put a thumb on the scale for Bama (i.e. keep the full plethora of OC options open for Saban when Locksley officially leaves in a few days).

But seriously, as persuasive as that explanation is to me (indulging my single conspiracy theory guilty pleasure), I don’t buy that the SEC is trying to dictate the timing of a hire.

I just did the research and saw that they started admitting men in 1972. I have an elderly relation by marriage who taught there long ago before beginning a long career at MTSU and in all her reminiscences I got the impression that it was a ladies' school. The history of Radford looks similar to that of Belmont.

I'd have never have guessed that there was both a Radcliffe and a Radford that each started out as women's unis/colleges. Having an elderly relation that taught at either is pretty bad@ss imo. It's common today for women to get their degrees but back in the day it was rare for a woman to go to college at all let alone to get an advanced degree so she could teach at the college level. You've got one tough/smart cookie in your family -- treasure her.

Agreed. It's possible he thought he would have more responsibility under Pruitt and knows Smartt would offer that

Please stop. Sherrer is closer to pruitt. Smart wouldn't give him any more responsibility. Smart called plays even with a veteran NFL DC he will do it to anyone. Smart is promoting Shuman and will hire a DB coach. Probably Ansley

Its Freeze, guys. Pay attention to VQ and NOTHING else during coaching searches. Those guys told us no Gruden constantly and said Schiano over and over during the search. Now they've been saying Freeze with Lindsey and others AFTER talking Freeze. If you read the VQ tea leaves Freeze has been the guy all week. No doubt in my mind.

Would be cool for an announcement today but if not today should be tomorrow or Monday, IMO.
