That’s a real shame. Further dilutes the meaning of conference championships and further dilutes the greatest regular season in all of sports.

Don't like this idea....when a team knows they can lose 2 games and still get in I think it takes out the fun in College Football where every week seems to matter

I'm honestly not sure where I come out on it. FCS has a 16 team playoff, and they seem to do ok. Not sure how many teams they have, though, compared to FBS.

I think the fact that at least 1 P5 conference champ gets left out annoys people. And this year will be 2 in a row that 2 conference champs don't make it. I don't think they really deserved to, but I can see that being the reasoning.

I'm not denying that he's legit, because I certainly feel that he is. More importantly he seems like a good man. He did pretty much say he thought it was going to be Gruden though, as I outlined in my previous post. No debating that.

Regarding the College Football Playoffs, I would like the idea of 6 teams more. Have a BCS type of system to figure out who is number 1 and 2, let them have a bye week, and let the committee choose the other 4.

Say what we will about this kid, he is about to have his 4th OC in his 4th year on campus. I can't imagine dealing with that much transition at that age. I'd love for Freeze, Enos, or Lindsay to help JG reach all his potential as a QB.

How does Hyams even have a show? The 6 or 7 yrs I've been patrolling this site I .can't remember one time where he was factually out front on a big story. I'm sure there were some but it escapes me at this moment..

He's on WNML, the station that broadcasts the games. People take his word as gospel because it is one of the flagship stations that broadcast the games. That's pretty much all he's got.

he trusted his source. he's the university's mouthpiece. he gets fed info, he reports it. generally, and historically, he's had no reason NOT to report stuff he's given from those folks.

last year, things got turned on it's ear though.

not defending him either, not a fan. but he didn't knowingly report false information.

He also was not very apologetic about it. He said he was lied to, shrugged and moved on. He did not seem the least bit embarrassed or contrite.

I actually enjoy listening to Hyams. He’s a nice guy and does a good job talking about games and stuff. He just needs to stick more with opinions then trying to be a reporter.

8 teams. 5 P5 champs. Highest ranked Group of 5. 2 at large. This year, it would give us:
Bama
Clemson
Oklahoma
Washington
Ohio State
UCF
Notre Dame
Georgia

Conference titles still important becuase they get you in. Regular season still important because of the at large bids. And the little guy gets their shot.

Might want to mandate 11 game regular season schedules, though.

I think AV is 100% correct. I am pretty sure Freeze has already been offered as of Saturday evening. By now he has probably either accepted or we are deciding on someone else..
