There ya go. Then we need to do away with divisions. Go BigXII method and top two conference records.

If we’re going to auto-admit conference champions, my preference would be a round robin like the old PAC-10 used to do, but given that won’t work with conferences of 12-14 teams, I think the Big XII method would be best.

In recent memory a 7-5 Wisconsin won the Big 10 and a 6-6 Georgia Tech very nearly won the ACC. Neither of those teams deserved to even sniff a potential playoff. Divisions are a disaster waiting to happen if champions are auto-admitted.

My curiosity is piqued by the "Ice Cream Fantasies". What could they be?

Something like this??

Personally my favorite idea is a 6 team playoff, 1 & 2 to get a bye week and 3-6 to play in a quarterfinal before the semi's. This would allow a consensus 1 & 2 selected by BCS method and 3-6 to be selected by committee this way the field doesn't get overly large and have to dragged it too many weeks, you can't structure it like march madness because you can't play a game just every 2 or 3 days due to player safety and game planning

I don't see the need for a bigger playoff. What we have is the same thing the BCS tried for -- to find the best team. As long as the best team (and probably the second best) is in the playoff, objective achieved.

Agreed, the way it is now is part of the charm of CFB. Plus, if they expand it to 8 then they'll be arguing about teams 9, 10, and 11 that deserved to be in. It'll never be perfect.

Not that I think this is the case, but I’m not going to lose sleep if Hugh is holding out for Alabama. Let the guy walk. He’s not worth all the fuss.

I’ve reached the point where I prefer Lindsey and Enos over him.

I can't imagine Pruitt and/or Fulmer being agreeable to him holding out this long for another job, especially if it is Bama.
