An offensive coordinator hire is not going to be the thing that fixes this program or the thing that keeps it from getting back. People have got to give up on hoping for that magic bullet.

Well, we've had God awful defenses for at least 10 years, and you see what that has gotten us. We finally have a great defensive minded coach who will hopefully change that.
We've had some 10 win offenses in the past 10 years, but no defense to go along with it. Our defense took a step in the right direction this year. We went from almost last in defense last year, to at least a top 60 defense. That's strides.

So, yes, a coordinator hire could have a major implication on the direction of this program for the next few years. We just wasted one with Helton, so we have to make a home run hire.

Some will say they're "more forgiving" but it's mostly because Freeze leans more towards proselytizing than being private.

Freeze would almost have to handicap himself to make that happen. Unless Taggart just flat out can't field a defense. If Freeze is an effective OC, then FSU puts up points and improves under Taggart and he doesn't get fired. The whole usurping the head coach strategy seems ill-advised. Auburn actually kinda makes sense because Gus is already on the hot seat.

You know all the pearl clutchers at other schools are riding the high horse. I want to see a great OC hire as well...still though our offensive line situation is bad. I don’t care if it’s Freeze, Enos, or whomever. Can they scheme past a line that has another year in an S & C program that’s going to come in probably needed at least one if not two freshman starters? Freeze is a great OC but I don’t see his scheme working with whatever the heck we have up front.

One can only hope, pray, chant or invoke a swift karmic justice to anyone intentionally throwing a personal wrench into what CJP and ADPF are wanting to do for UT football, if that is currently the case.

However, if it involves a certain family go ahead and bring on karma as they deserve it for past infractions anyhow.
