Recruiting Forum Football Talk [RIP 9.3.2019]

Someone supposedly close to Freeze said in a tweet that Freeze wanted to take the process slowly so that he could see just what options were available for him. This may be the cause of the delay in an announcement. Also they said that Freeze wants to be a head coach as soon as possible. That's his real goal. So he will chose which option he feels gets him to that goal.

Given all that, I'm not sure that it is in our best interest to hire a one and done OC. We need some measure of continuity over the next couple of years. I'm not sure what other option might be the best for the long term.
Well if he's the hold up because he's waiting to see if there are better opportunities, I wouldn't think CJP would be waiting around for him to make up his mind. Seems like CJP would have moved on to someone else and not waiting.

Gotta think that if Pruitt wanted Lindsey, he'd already be here. It's entirely possible Pruitt wants Freeze but Freeze is going to wait and see other opportunities. Then Freeze takes one of those other opportunities (Alabama) and Pruitt falls back to Friend.

He didn't have any issues recruiting any other positions though. RBs simply were never featured in the offense he liked to run. He absolutely had the exact personnel he wanted to run his offense.
I was just commenting based off what Freeze has said himself. Dexter McCluster was the best he could do.

The high school stories sound like everyday stuff in half the high schools across the country that have dress codes. I remember the whole us against the teachers thing in high school, girls pushing the lines of short shorts/skirts and guy with the various innuendo shirts. Girls were known to wear skirts that were acceptable and then roll them up to a shorter length once at school. There would usually be a few crackdowns through out the year and it was stated in the rule book at my high school that the first offense you would be given the option to change the offending garment, be it clothes in the car or calling a parent to bring you a replacement, and any refusal would result in being sent home.

Stop yes but success means very little

He's already proven enough

He can't just come in and stink it up or be average, though, regardless of what he did in the past. If he puts up big numbers he becomes a hot "name" again. I know that he has proven what he can do but the clock resets on these things and schools want guys who are in demand. He has to get back to that level.

Imo just getting back in the game and keeping his nose clean is all he needs

I don't see any comparison to not turning in a man molesting boys vs making someone change their shirt with no mention of if he was looking or not; telling a girl to change her skirt because it's too short; and spanking a girl when paddling was common in schools at that time

I could be critical of the decisions alleged of Freeze and still agree that they do not compare to the Schiano situation. No one should try to compare them.

Maybe. I think he needs to put up numbers and get people talking about him. Especially for the type of P5 job he likely wants. The WKU and UMass jobs of the world could be had almost regardless.

It's an easier hire for ADs to make when he's the hot coordinator name and he has a strong past as a head coach. If Tennessee's offense limps along under him it's a tougher hire.
