Absolutely. And Brent knows, if there is a legitimate hold up because of a booster or administrator, that putting that name out there only causes trouble.Which from an informational standpoint they might as well not know.
The media has rules they have to play by. That I do believe.
This is the article mentioned earlier. Doesn't necessarily make him out to be a pedophile, but does make him seem like a bit of a creeper.
Who is Hugh Freeze? Conflicting views of former Ole Miss coach emerge
If we get him here, great. I can latch on to plenty of positives with him as a football coach. If we don't, no problem... I'm not losing sleep over this guy. We may be dodging a bullet.
Our new OC rhymes with ....View attachment 179990
Yeah. Outing the $ or Randy Boyd as the wall is not prudent, even if its true. And Im not saying it is in either case.Absolutely. And Brent knows, if there is a legitimate hold up because of a booster or administrator, that putting that name out there only causes trouble.
We’ve already seen what happened to Randy Boyd.
As a defensive player, I would. I would have seen the improvement that Pruitt has made with the current players knowing that a lot of them aren't as highly skilled as others programs in the SEC.Would you come play for the Vols right now? Honestly.
100% true - I went to J School before I switched careers. You can't afford to lose access as a journalist, especially in sports. Breaking a story isn't worth losing the connections that bring you the next 10 stories...Which from an informational standpoint they might as well not know.

i would go with a super innovative mind like bob stitt with head coaching experience, and lots of it before going that far down the rabbit hole. No matter what we do, there will be risk so aim bigIf the rumors of Pruitt taking his time and looking around at different candidates have teeth, Harralson mentioned on a podcast last night that one of the coaches Pruitt spoke to was Del Alexander. He's the WR coach at Notre Dame. Seems to be an up-and-comer. I think there may be one or two others out of left field we don't know about. If Freeze doesn't pan out, these names should come out of the woodwork.
Given I know nothing about what is happening with this search but I don't think its going to be Freeze. I also have made it clear that I do not think any of the local "journalists" know anything or are in the loop at all. A lot of times its someone out of left field no one has really considered or mentioned much. I think its going to be a while and its going to be someone along those lines. I have a bit of faith it will be a good hire although the last OC hire wasn't that great to be honest. In other words, strap in for the long haul.
Weird. Urban fought like hell to keep from even getting a smack on the wrist from tOSU but now that he's been chastised he up and quits again.
either way. that's all they've really said "i don't know".Consider me skeptical that they don’t “know” what’s going on.
The truth is probably that they don’t feel comfortable saying it or haven’t gotten it pinned down by multiple sources.
You're probably right, but for my health & sanity, I wish I knew for sure cuz I'm too old to wait for it all to sort out (almost 40-yr season ticket holder). I currently have faith in the direction of UT football under Fulmer & Pruitt but if $ or admin not on same page, I would like to know so I can spend my Saturdays elsewhere.Yeah. Outing the $ or Randy Boyd as the wall is not prudent, even if its true. And Im not saying it is in either case.
A few things...
If Mike Locksley gets the Maryland job, I keep hearing that Locks may look at Chris Weinke to join his staff. Obviously I think it would take an OC position for him to leave. A lateral move makes no sense.
If that happened I’d expect John Lilly to move on the field and Niedermeyer to move to running backs.
Elsewhere Montario Hardesty is joining Tyson Helton’s staff at Western Kentucky as the running backs coach.

If the AD passes on hiring a proven and innovative play caller because of this kind of article (Watch out for Hugh Freeze's Dog!!!!! He's so mean and scary!!!!), then we're in a far worse place than anyone could have possibly imagined.
