We need a great OC and better players.. I know and have said that it will take anybody more than a year to fix this mess..that us why we don't need another ojt cadidate, or a especially not a havetagooglehisname candidate...

Simple dapper dan man. If it's gonna take more than a year to fix then Freeze is a bad deal. He's only staying 2 years tops before he takes a HC gig. Only reason he isn't offered HC now is the PR involving that being too soon.

We should now move on ya?

I'm thinking the only way to fix it is to scrap it and reinvent. Osovet and a new QB.

that alone should make a difference. Give me a kid with wheels who can throw it 10-20yds, that has even descent vision and pressure pickup/awareness, and I'll ride with him all day.

My guess is we don’t have any new candidates because we’re waiting on Freeze.

I think this is probably correct. Freeze wanted to see what else was out there, but CJP might still be confident.

It's risk/reward by letting others go. I would be a little surprised they didn't push Freeze for a quicker decision if that was who they wanted.

I was taking to my wife last night. I can understand why people would be hesitant to hire Freeze. Even tho I think those HS allegations are bogus, I can get they want to play this safe.

That being said, other schools aren’t so hesitant and he is apparently the guy Pruitt wants. He’s been vetted, let Pruitt hire his man.

Drinkwitz would have been a great hire for Butch. This isn't on the same level as Larry Scott or even Debord, who wasn't even coaching. People are just saying this because it's a letdown from Freeze. But Drinkwitz is much better than what Butch settled for.

One of the issues with Schiano was that he wasn't publicly vetted prior to his hire. It was a surprise, and when the allegations of his PSU knowledge came with it, no one had time to really look at it so they went into overdrive on the reaction front. I know his name was mentioned, but no one considered him a serious so no one brought it up. Fair or not, the public will assume the worst until time is allowed for more truth searching.

With Freeze, I'm wondering if part of all this is just allowing his demons to be aired out prior to an announcement. It forestalls a freak out.

I actually doubt this is the case, but it's a thought. In all honesty, the truth is usually pretty mundane. As a message board, the more fantastic theories often get way more credit than they're due.

I still think you are getting too hyped over not having an OC appointed yet. If Pruitt knew the WKU job was going to open days before the last weekend of the season and thus knew Helton would possibly be interested, then sure, I would have expected Pruitt to have gotten a head start on this search in which we'd be farther along by now. But, that didn't happen. At any rate, agree to disagree there.
