I was taking to my wife last night. I can understand why people would be hesitant to hire Freeze. Even tho I think those HS allegations are bogus, I can get they want to play this safe.

That being said, other schools aren’t so hesitant and he is apparently the guy Pruitt wants. He’s been vetted, let Pruitt hire his man.

Freeze is sleazy in all the ways. But he’s called plays (as the HC) on the biggest stage and made some noise. (I’m not totally sold on his coaching record, but I can’t deny that he took a 2-win team and turned it into a top-5 team at one point.) If Pruitt wants him (which it sort of seems like he does), then you bring him in and bird-dog him to make sure he behaves.

One of the issues with Schiano was that he wasn't publicly vetted prior to his hire. It was a surprise, and when the allegations of his PSU knowledge came with it, no one had time to really look at it so they went into overdrive on the reaction front. I know his name was mentioned, but no one considered him a serious so no one brought it up. Fair or not, the public will assume the worst until time is allowed for more truth searching.

With Freeze, I'm wondering if part of all this is just allowing his demons to be aired out prior to an announcement. It forestalls a freak out.

I actually doubt this is the case, but it's a thought. In all honesty, the truth is usually pretty mundane. As a message board, the more fantastic theories often get way more credit than they're due.
but what was known is that his former players thought he was a total dickhead, a martinet, and that he coached players to injure opponents, and he had a shatty 500 record at Rutgers. I mean win 6 out of 10 games at least before u trot someone the f out

Yep

Posing a hypothetical here, if any OC, whether employed or not, or former head coach was available to be our OC, who would you want? NFL, as well.

We won’t get Drink if Auburn wants him.

These BS name coming off UT’s list only to leave freeze’s name still on the board to be discussed points to freeze.the names that keep getting hired on this list only adds more pressure to UT to make a hire, they are shooting themselves in the foot with a shotgun.

Then he puts the lipstick on. Classic.

Pete Carrol, cause we need some players! I would start with just maybe even one second team all SEC. That would be progress

Good stuff man!..but I was referring to specific details as to why he cooled on his friend Lindsey,we may never hear about those details but it’s very interesting.thank you for looking that up though 🤘🏽🍊

Yeah, no kidding. I’d love to hear some details too. Also would love to know why Dan Enos has turned out to be such an apparent non-factor in this search.

Another name comes to mind --- Kiffin. Sleazy in all the ways, but was given a chance and put in a box at AL and killed it... now has moved on. Freeze knows that he would need to behave in order to have a chance to move up in the coaching ranks, so we won't have any problems with him if hired. Phil won't put up with it or take the chance.
