Still waiting patiently...

"Freeze said in a statement issued to USA TODAY Sports through his attorney Saturday: "These accusations are totally false. I can unequivocally say that during my time at Briarcrest Christian School I handled disciplinary issues professionally and in accordance with the school's policy. I am very confident that the members of the administration who worked hand in hand with me during my tenure will verify that."
Briarcrest, which also released a statement Saturday, said current and former administration officials with whom the school has been in contact were unaware of any claims of misconduct by Freeze.
"Briarcrest would take any such allegations very seriously and would investigate fully," the statement read.
After reading his former coach's statement, Allison said, "I believe him and support him 100%."

I’m tired of people lobbing vague accusations of misconduct at Freeze. Kingston (or anybody else), if you know of misconduct, tell us.

If you know and won’t say anything, you’re just protecting a sex abuser.

If you don’t know, stop proclaiming him a sex abuser.
I’m not proclaiming him anything.

Everything I’ve read (everything that’s available to the public) is enough for me to say I don’t want him to be hired at UT.

Everything we’re hearing from our “insiders” is that there’s a new snag. And now the Briarcrest stuff is being pointed at as a possible answer. It makes total sense.

And if he is not hired, no way UT releases the scope of its findings.

No offense intended, but I think everybody who is actively following this thread at this point has seen that. The worst allegation in that article is that one time he made a girl change shirts (to comply with dress code) in his office. If true, I find that entirely inappropriate, but importantly, it is not clear whether he was watching or whether the corner where she supposedly changed did give some privacy, etc.

But more to the point, Kingston specifically said there is more about Briarcrest than is known publicly. That’s what I’m talking about — if so, tell us. If all you’ve got is the shirt-changing story, then don’t act like there’s a whole trove of stories of sex abuse.

Rumors are sexual contact with students

Those rumors have been there for years

No idea if true or not but can you imagine how bad we would look if one came forward accusing him of that after we hired him ?

Now THAT would be the most Tennessee thing possible.

That Briarcrest stuff is pure garbage. It is just an excuse for guys like you to pontificate. It is nothing but smear..that is all.

It would look bad, no doubt. If true, he’d be fired. (For better for for worse, he’d probably be fired regardless, actually.)

But I’ve never seen any of that sourced to anywhere. It’s the most pernicious kind of rumor — one without any discernible source (and I don’t just mean an on-the-record source; I mean I can’t even figure out where on a message board it came from, etc.). It’s just something that percolates in only the vaguest terms on Mississippi State websites. Which isn’t to say that it can’t be true, but it’s not promising.

If he’s not hired because their uncomfortable with these allegations, I can understand that. But, while we wait, we’re risking missing out on other top candidates. I wish he’d just go offer Enos 1.5 and get it done
Enos is Saban's scraps bro.

I think the public opinion is a fickle thing. We habe to be cautious, yet if SABAN hires Freeze, he's the forgiving honorable coach of second chances and new beginnings.

That can be us.

It’s still Freeze. Always has been. Deep breath.
Do you think they’re just doing their due diligence? That’s what it sounds like to me. And if so, again, I’m completely fine with that and this is not some mass conspiracy to try and make Fulmer and Pruitt fail as people on the radio were saying this morning

I'd go all in on Enos at this point. I don't think he is a slam dunk, but he is not an airball either. I'm afraid we are gonna end up with an airball.

Saban would promote Enos immediately if Locksley departs. He isn’t scraps. He probably isn’t as good as Freeze would be, but he’s considered to be an elite play caller and QB coach

Bolded is a good point.

I still think you are getting too hyped over not having an OC appointed yet. If Pruitt knew the WKU job was going to open days before the last weekend of the season and thus knew Helton would possibly be interested, then sure, I would have expected Pruitt to have gotten a head start on this search in which we'd be farther along by now. But, that didn't happen. At any rate, agree to disagree there.
Fair enough..

Despite his mullet and playing us twice for raises, I kind of like the guy.
I like him for his antics and the fact that he didn’t wind up here both times. We might be 7-5ish and that’s the ceiling- yeah better than we now, but no hope being above FU and UGA.

When Freeze was at Ole Miss everyone on here would talk about how sleazy and a cheat He was. And if we weren't looking for an OC we would be bad mouthing him and who ever hired him. But since we do have a chance to hire him then all of a sudden he's not that bad and stuff he did is no big deal. Also to the people acting like the Briarcrest is nothing, you need to ask yourself how you would feel if that girl would had been your daughter that he made take her shirt off in front him.

And if the perception is you didn't hire Schiano because of "rumors," then how do you justify hiring of Freeze?

I was on the ice train, too, but after digging through the interwebz, etc etc I just can't see it happening.
