Exactly. I think Helton leaving did not catch Pruitt off Guard. And because of that already knew who he wanted to target before there was officially a search. If that's the case, the moment there was an opening you begin looking in to all of that immediately, knowing that you're gonna have to clear those hurdles if you want to hire him. Does that take longer than a week? No idea but seems as if they could have figured that all out by now. They knew the guy has a past...

Yeah, I’m skeptical of allegations that didn’t come out until Freeze’s misconduct is already publicly known. It’s a strange phenomenon that people like to jump on and make false allegations anytime this happens to a public figure. But, you have to be careful

See this is the thing. I don’t care what the national media’s opinion of a Freeze hire at UT would be, but if it’s Tennessee they are going to be uniquely motivated to go hunt down every female student that went to Briarcrest and go all Brett Kavanaugh against him. Who knows what they’ll turn up? That won’t happen if Freeze gets hired at Auburn or FSU because the media doesn’t have a score to settle with those schools like they do with Tennessee. That is probably what the University is struggling with (and investigating) right now. It’s not what they know about him that is holding this up, it’s what they don’t know that scares them.

We should've just pursued Lindsey or Enos immediately and vetted Freeze before wasting all this time.

Such a clusterf***. Someone needs to send our entire administration from the AD up to a "how to hire coaches" class.

Pruitt sat down and spoke to Freeze, apparently, within a couple days of Helton leaving. That's really all we know. Are we really that far into the process with him? People would be trying to burn this place down if Pruitt hadn't talked to Freeze within a week of the OC spot opening because he was being "vetted."

I think if he was good enough to be OC at Bama, he's probably capable enough to be OC here. Was QB Coach and OC during the Pete Carroll years I believe. He did well with Locker at Washington too. Pruitt knows him. Just an option should we not get Freeze.

No offense intended, but I think everybody who is actively following this thread at this point has seen that. The worst allegation in that article is that one time he made a girl change shirts (to comply with dress code) in his office. If true, I find that entirely inappropriate, but importantly, it is not clear whether he was watching or whether the corner where she supposedly changed did give some privacy, etc.

But more to the point, Kingston specifically said there is more about Briarcrest than is known publicly. That’s what I’m talking about — if so, tell us. If all you’ve got is the shirt-changing story, then don’t act like there’s a whole trove of stories of sex abuse.
