I wonder why, if she was so uncomfortable then, did she not inform her parents of it? If my girls had told me that story, I'd have been at school the next morning wanting explanations and finding out the truth. Why suddenly bring it up last year? Sounds to me like a whole lot of herd (me-too) mentality going on there.

Just texted a friend of mine who is an Ole Miss alum and writes for their SB Nation blog. I asked him if TN should hire Freeze and he said "No f*** him, he's a rat."

Agree that somebody in media will re-up that story when he’s hired. If UT is going to hire him, they better be prepared to stand behind him in that moment, so I’m supportive of them vetting as needed. You guys are talking me off the ledge re: impatience... but they need to be able to wrap it up soon.

It's possible that she was too embarrassed and scared to tell anyone at the time.

This is shaping up to be another Gruden fiasco. All UT coaching searches set up the same way it seems. An insider claiming he knows something, an insider claiming we have a high profile target but can’t say who. And a sect of the main stream media that seems to believe it is possible. The only difference is there is some who believe Freeze to be possible, but not probable.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope we go big. I am for Freeze as long as the high school allegations check out. But until UT actually does something big. I will not believe any rumor until they have been announced by VQ or another reputable media outlet.

It is fun to hope, but things like this is why everyone makes fun of us.

It was 1999. You have to remember that context. Not saying it's right, but things are different now. I graduated from high school in 1998, and there were certainly instances then that would probably get a complaint these days.

If we were to look at new names.. I'd be interested to see if Monken or Cooter would listen. Good chance both will be looking for new employment. Monken for sure as I don't see koetter surviving. Cooter and Patricia don't seem to fit and lions could cut bait with Stafford soon.
