Taggert and Malzhan would be the main reasons Freeze hasn't taken those jobs. I seriously think if Tennessee wants him and Bama isn't in the hunt then we get him.

Malzahn and Freeze are good friends plus Freeze has a daughter who attends Auburn.

yep. there's only two things that make sense at this point.

1. he's our guy, no way we tell Chip Lindsey to start looking for houses in Lawrence if he's not.
2. Freeze pumped the brakes when news about Locksley possibly leaving Bama

and we just don't have a plan b, good bad or indifferent, so we wait and see.

Enos is Plan B.

Hugh either lands at UT or Bama IMO. I see no way he jumps into the fire with Taggert or Malzhan and gives up autonomy over the offense.

I really have a hard time believing the hang up on Freeze is his marital infidelity. Taking everything we know, I think the most likely explanation is that they are doing an investigation (that should have been done weeks ago) into the Briarcrest stuff to make sure they don’t get blindsided (see what I did there?) by anything they don’t already know about. That’s why this seems to be in limbo, because it could still go either way, and we haven’t given Freeze a yes or no yet.

The Blindside. THAT should be the hang up...Freeze having a role in that POS. I forgive Fulmer for it.

Here is the issue that I have with the Freeze allegations. Saban hires him a year ago if Sankey does not shut it down. Saban vets everything. Ask Rush Probst about Saban's vetting. Cost him a job on the staff there. I whole hardheartedly believe that if Saban had found anything he would not have tried to hire him last year....after the article came out. CJP was still on that staff at that time. I am sure he was aware what Saban was doing and might know what Saban knows about Coach Freeze.

My guess is there is no real investigation going on, but the appearance of one to calm the UT must be morally superior crowd. The Briarcrest stuff has been vetted more than once by now.

Most likely the deal is done and it's a timing thing. I feel like if the deal for Freeze isn't done by now then there will be no deal for Freeze.

UT administration is so inept. They have had ample time to do any sort of digging prior to this week. Such an unbelievable level of incompetence for us to be fumbling around with yet another coaching hire.

Just like in Washington D.C. whatever we think makes the most “logical” sense to do certain things in some areas does not always apply to those people in power in D.C.

I mean, I care about it, but my moral expectations for people who coach or play a sport where you constantly bash your head into a wall is pretty low.
