i.e., he likes Freeze but not enough to fight for him. Which is why an “offer” hasn’t been made.

Maybe that changes - but seems more likely that the search starts over today with Pruitt and Fulmer both back on campus. The fact of the matter is that Pruitt may not have been overwhelmingly impressed with anyone in the first round of interviews.

I can assure you I wasn't being serious as in trying to chastise him.. What's funny is how much some of you can deduce from one line of text. I'm sorry he/you took it that way and there was no need for him to explain himself or you to come to his rescue..

1. Hiring Freeze would be a statement that the culture of TN football has shifted. They are going for broke to win big again.

2. Hiring Freeze would be a big statement in the world of recruiting. It would validate Pruitt as “getting it done”

3. Hiring Freeze would likely bring NCAA eyes to Knoxville. We already know we are going to have to play in the gray areas to catch up in talent. The NCAA doesn’t pop thriving programs. They pop up-and-coming and struggling programs.

4. Hiring Freeze means we are searching for an OC again after 1-2 years. Programs that are rolling can better afford stop gap hires. We would be better served by a guy who rolls up his sleeves because development is huge right now.

5. Admit it or not, TN made our bed on Schiano Sunday. Hiring Freeze, rightfully so, would be a joke after the protest concerning Schiano / Penn State. The fact that there are even rumors of Hugh and underage girls is very problematic.

6. Hire Freeze and you live with the constant undercurrent of worry that a girl / group of girls come out with MeToo stories. OR a prostitute comes out with sordid details.

7. Hiring Freeze makes a huge statement. But when it comes down to actually building an offense and calling plays on game day, there are dozens of OC’s all around the country who have effective, high scoring offenses. Finding an effective, productive OC is very doable. Finding someone who can be comparable to Freeze as an OC is very doable. The advantage of Freeze is the statement made...no doubt, his track record indicates he is an elite offensive mind. But rational thinking says there are others out there to be had who will do a good job.

BVS is real, I have had it since 2004. Long-long time lingerer here. Gotta question: If Freeze goes to Bama as the Gumps are starting to predict and Dan Enos wants his shot at OC. If he comes to the good guys would he wait until after the playoffs? H Bailey said we would get a phenomenal hire (Freeze or a OC/QB guy like Enos). Can't believe Pruitt would be out recruiting (and smiling) if we were having to push reset..... Thanks and I will hang up and linger for a bit lol

We could announce Enos now but to your point he might definately want to finish the playoffs. I would want to.
