Yeah I don't know why low and vq keep using that term. Maybe because it resets their board? I'd be shocked and disappointed if he wasn't working phones in background with others. Hubbs goes from pruiit will be thorough take his time and talk to lots of people to reset? Seems odd.

Freeze might be at the top of Pruitt’s list but it sounds to me like he’s not pushing hard enough for him to get “over the hump” of the ancillary issues we’re hearing rumors about.

i.e., he likes Freeze but not enough to fight for him. Which is why an “offer” hasn’t been made.

Maybe that changes - but seems more likely that the search starts over today with Pruitt and Fulmer both back on campus. The fact of the matter is that Pruitt may not have been overwhelmingly impressed with anyone in the first round of interviews.

Fulmer and Pruitt are both back on campus today? That’s it… The announcement is today.

Good grief. There is ZERO credible info that he even wants Freeze. He is working the opening now, and has been the whole time. There is no need to "reset" something that hasn't stalled. There is a plan A, B,C,D,E,F,G,H,.....

Honestly, I'd like to have Freeze but if he wasn't the pick to begin with, I can live with that. We all know Sexton and the media are pushing for someone, anyone to give him another opportunity to coach. I think he could really help with recruiting right now, but he'd leave in a year maybe 2 as soon as a decent HC gig opened up. As much as Hugh would help us in the present, we'd be right back here in the near future doing this all over again.

There’s no angle... my confidence in hiring freeze took a major hit last night. I don’t think it’s completely over and won’t until he’s working for another school or we hire someone else. He was/is at the top of the list.

All i was saying last night was that it’s not as simple as “Haslam or this big money guy is blocking and everyone else is on board”. That’s not what’s happening it’s more than that so I’m not as confidence as i was l before.

And you or whoever can flame me all you want but I’ve said a million times that idc about “VN cred” i hear stuff and pass it a long to guys/gals i like talking sports with. It’s fun for me, not my reputation or livelihood. Yes i called me shot “guessed” that freeze would be announced the other day. I was wrong lol.

But you can go back and check my post. A week ago i said freeze was a legit candidate and people were blocking... 2 days later VQ says it. I also said shortly after hearing Drinkwitz name that he isn’t a legit candidate and it was just a curtesy interview .. then VQ reports it. Same thing with Enos. There’s also a NFL guy that we’ve talked too not working for the Browns. I’m sure we will hear about that from “tos” soon.

That chalk talk link you posted made him more interesting, for sure. I’ll forget this point later so I’ll throw it out now. When some of our posters want to replace Weinke with someone who played RB? Werner joins HUGH FREEZE and Cutcliffe as coaches who never played college football. This Werner guy coaches up QB’s and played veer formation WR in high school.

I missed that. Thanks for sharing. I think his resume is really solid.

He was at Ole Miss when they were at their best and beating Bama. He did reasonably well at USC with Bentley. I'd say Bentley's play was the reason we lost this year.

The question mark for me is did he have more of a Tee Martin at USC role while at Ole Miss?

Was speaking in generalities in regards to anyone that can bring a little information here and there, not just myself. No one is inside the coaches office and knows exactly what’s going on so was just saying everyone is gonna be wrong at some point. Wasn’t trying to come off like a diva lol.

I don’t think this search is running just so smoothly that there is the complex plan that has 6 candidates but somehow the only person that anyone has heard anything about is freeze. It was always freeze or bust like I’ve said.
