I am in 100% agreement with your comments and think you are spot on. I will say this however..when i am wrong it means our coaches are wrong so it isn’t a good look for any of us when it happens!

No doubt you are connected.....This is how you see it...and that is fine. Coaches are wrong, no.

You may have been given information that appears that way....and I Appreciate what you bring to the board, but CJP and ADPF have played this close to the vest with a lot of misdirection, misinformation, and silence.

I can see where there is a lot of misses on recruits, because of it being kids, social media, broken commitments, media and information is very fluid.

The coaching search had been controlled and so tight lipped that only a few had access...

This is a good to great hire for us....Let's all enjoy it and not worry about E Cred for missing or getting it right...

I'm apparently in the minority, but I want Friend to stay.

Oklahoma State: Per source, Eastern Washington offensive coordinator Bodie Reeder has been offered a position at Oklahoma State and is expected to join Mike Gundy’s staff.

At this point we could use two OL coaches... instead we have two LB coaches, two DB coaches... there are five OL on the field at the same time, more than any other unit. With our struggles, it would be a good thing. Heck, Richmond needs a coach all to himself

A personal "boutique" coach for Richmond would be trendsetting. Also on an unrelated note, UGA could do worse than Dooley as OC. I'm not scoffing at the idea.

A lot of offenses smoked us. Lol. But when I look at Clemson’s offense and Ga’s offense, I’d rather have Clemson’s ALL DAY. Just my take. For me, it’s a 7 out of 10. Good thing about Chaney is that he does bring stability and a lifetime coordinator. I doubt he moves again and that’s what Pruitt needs. So in that regard, it’s great. Hopefully he can mesh some innovation from Osevet into his playbook.

You rated Chaney a 7? Come on man that is dumb. He is a solid 8.5 to 9, maybe even 10.

If/when Tee is hired, it’ll be the end of the curse. The clouds will be lifted and the sun will appear. All will be forgiven and the penance paid by the fans for the atrocities of the admins will be suffice. The winds of change will have shifted and they will be felt on every campus and they will carry with them a warning that the sleeping giant is awakening.

Let's just keep hyping this up...Chaney is the best OC in the SEC and he's on the hill!

Here's the NFL guys that played under Chaney while he was here from 2009-2012. Considering how -bad- Dooley was at everything this list was larger than I expected...and I didn't include special teams or OL

RB
Montario Hardesty
Rajion Neal
Tauren Poole

WR/TE
Denarius Moore
Luke Stocker
Justin Hunter
Da'Rick Rogers
Mychal Rivera
Cordarrelle Patterson

QB
Tyler Bray

Our weakness will be and is a box and 1,by March if we have not figured that out yet,it will be our kryptonite two teams have used it on us already and we struggled to score,3 if you include Missouri which is why we started out sluggish.
I wish barns would implement something that would allowed our shooters to get a rythem going like for Bowden,he’s a better transition off the dribble shooter, not a spot up shooter the offense evolves to slow for him with us pounding the paint.
BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE I LOVE THIS TEAM AND I AM IN NO WAY BASHING,IF IT ISNT BROKE DONT FIX IT lol.i just us to have a outside game, our shooters to be ready and effective by March or teams will just crowd the paint.🍊
i'm not up on some of hte technical stuff you mention here lol.

but i do totally agree with you on the outside shooting. i think we've been good there, but we don't have that transition, spot up shooter than can get it up and out quick. all of our guys have to set up and shoot. that's not a bad thing. but it does require you to run your offense and create the look.

i watched May for UNC last night multiple times, take pass, spot, shoot...many times with a hand right in his face. but that's what we don't have right now. that's the kind of guy that could cause us problems, cause it doesn't matter sometimes how good you were on transition defense. he gets it, he shoots it, and he makes it.

i do think overall Bowden has gotten a lot better, and as little as two weeks ago i was questioning his value. but i've been really impressed with him, particularly in the last two games.

There are rumblings that things are not so good in Georgia rite now.

I’ve heard that the coaching atmosphere is pretty toxic down there rite now.

Expect more turnover with Coaches and transfers.

Was told that a couple of their signees are contemplating asking for a release.
You do know it isn't spelled rite, right?

From Ubben’s excellent article from the Athletic about reassessed expectations after the Chaney hire:

Reasonable expectations for the 2019 season

There is no excuse to not win at least six to seven games, and a reasonable path exists to make that number in the ballpark of eight to nine.

Tennessee will be young, but it should be fun and fast, too. The offensive line can’t be worse, and if Smith returns and Morris and Wright live up to recruiting hype, the Vols have a legitimate shot to go from a dreadful offensive line into one that is above average. A third-year quarterback in Guarantano can only improve the Vols’ odds of being more consistent than they were in 2018.

Defensively, watching Taylor and Thompson continue to progress into future All-SEC talents should bring Vols fans a little bit of joy. And seeing Peterson and Crouch grow up at linebacker alongside Darrell Taylor, the Vols’ MVP from 2018 and their most consistently disruptive defender, should offer plenty of excitement for the future.

As always, subscription is recommended. Ubben is the best.

there's no real rush on position coaches, especially as it relates to this cycle. this class is all but done, and i don't know that a position coach hire affects much, if anything, at this point. but Martin is unemployed, and has, and will have, options for employment opportunities, so the bigger factor is if he is someone you want, you should probably go get him sooner than later, he won't be around for too terribly long.

I guess the big question is, just from a perception stand-point, is whether or not we finish with a top ten class?

Let’s be honest. Georgia fans having this much class about losing a proven SEC coordinator is a good sign.

They have done what butch should have done. Taken advantage of the weakest eastern division in history.

Now Florida and Tennessee seem to be serious about winning and they know they choked.

De1 didn’t spill the entire conversation just that he talked to Chaney and he was trying to FINALIZE the deal and the main motivation was to return to Knoxville to be close to his daughter. Kirby didn’t have that card in his deck. Showed me the screenshot of Coach Chaney’s phone contact with the number blocked (not very well tho, De1. I could make it out. But I’ll never call him. How the hell would I explain who I am?). That could be faked, of course, but even tho we’ve clashed these last few years, the man has never violated confidences of his people and didn’t here when most would’ve jumped at the level of e-cred. Knew it was solid and it withstood AtlantaVol’s post about it dying as of Saturday. Man knows some people!
My man.
I'm sending $10.95 to you each because that info trumps anything from the pay services during the search.
