Was hoping a shooting team on its 4th straight day would lose its legs but they just kept hitting. Meanwhile we were the one with no legs.

I was worried the emotional high would make us come out flat but I trusted a veteran team. Disappointing that it was the opposite.
He went 12 deep and they didn't play anyone tough... probably more rested than our 7 man rotation.

His way also had us as a top 20 team in defensive efficiency nearly all year

Most fans aren’t very smart when it comes to basketball. We’re definitely a football school lol
Yeah I'm upset right now... This stings.

But he's been great for us.... Back to back championship games, top 5-10 all year.... Regular season Co title last year.

I need some time to get over this.

But I'm not mad at Rick Barnes. At all.

What a terrible, disappointing performance.

I hoped that "intensity over emotion" would've carried through to today.

Sadly we spent up all of our intensity and emotion yesterday.

Admiral and Grant mostly absent.

Sloppy passing all game.

Hardly any hustle.

No defense or rebounding.

Good to see lamonté and Bowden play well. Just not enough of it to matter.

To win, we have to play inside out. We didn't do that for a vast portion of the game and Auburn just kept hitting 3s in the 2nd half to keep the comeback at bay.

Still a great year but hard to swallow the losses to Auburn with a couple of titles on the line.

We've moved the goalposts now to a deep run in the tournament.

Season has been successful, but with elevated performances comes elevated expectations.

Turner was the only guy who came to play.

Sucks LSU & Auburn both probably going to vacate this season too. Congratulations to Pearl though, he's a hell of a coach and deserves it.

On to NCAA...
If that’s what we get from this game today that Turner is back I will take it. Will help a ton in NCAA.

Same boat.

Had some doubts we’d come out firing on all cylinders after that UK game but trusted Grant and Admiral to push us through. Disappointing on that front.

Yup. I still trust them for the tournament. They’ve shown that they will show up in big games. Today was an anomaly, not a trend.

Bruce Pearl's big line up was playing Florida, Missouri and South Carolina-- Teams we have slaughtered. This was his big game. We gave everything we had against Kentucky.
Facts, played teams he could literally watch miss jumpers.

His team was rested and ready. They stepped up and took the fight to us.

Sure against teams with a drive and dump to the bigs mentality. But teams that have multiple shoots. Hou, UNC Nova and theres probably a few others can easily do this same thing to us
True but typically speaking teams are not making 16 3’s against plus us turning it over almost 20 times.

That's loser talk...this was for a Championship that UT has not won in 40yrs. This wasn't a "we'll get this opportunity again." You must Take every opportunity you have.
All is not lost, my friend. Would you rather have lost this one and make a final four? A National championship game? A National championship? Not saying any of that will happen but if losing today resulted in that would that not be a good thing? Or on the other hand if we won today, and we got beat in the second round would that be worth a sec tournament championship? The Vols main goal is still on the table.

It makes me sick that we lost today but it's one game. The next few games will be the most important.

Doesnt matter how many you win there is only 1 that counts
And Kentucky was suppose to be the number one seed greatest team. And we beat them yesterday. LSU got beat by a bad Florida team. Auburn had the easiest schedule. Hundreds of basketball teams in the tournament and only one wins. If this is your idea of success, then you need to go root for Alabama and Duke.
