Not sure if it does. If that were the case she'd already be gone.
If she were just any coach hired without any connection to University, already been gone in a New York minute, circumstances that are now, University has to save face. Butts in the seats, recruiting suffering, social media, etc.

These guys work hard, they are not quitters, or half-assed in going about their business. It is a freaking shame. They played one of their best games of the year, then they played their absolute worst in two years in a span of hours. I feel worse for them, than I do us for a change...all that work and nothing to show for it yet.

Yeah, I hear ya on this one McGill. They have worked so hard and been so successful you wish they had something to show for it all. For them not me. They have brought such joy to this university in our darkest days. I will never forget this group of young men.

I disagree that they haven’t anything to show for it, it’s not what they were probably shooting for, but they accomplished bringing new fans to the team and sport in last two years. I, and my family can be counted toward that.

Just according on how your taking the words "nothing to show for it. " I was speaking more that I wish this team did have a SEC Championship (tourney) and I do hope making it to finals because they do deserve it. I am talking about something setting in the trophy case that they can point at. My heart wants to see this team, for them. to bring it home cause I so love these guys. So I don't mean in the absolute way they don't have anything to show for it. They have done so much my heart wants them to have that moment of cutting down nets and posing at center court with the Big trophy.

I may be in the minority, but I definitely think owning the number one ranking for a month is quite an accomplishment, and worthy of being counted. No, they may not get a trophy for it, but so what? If it counts to us, then it counts.

The season is not over, and I think most people would count a final 4, or even an elite eight game as an accomplishment.

On the basketball front. Haven't been on and read the threads but wanted to give my opinion on the loss to AU. The Vols were tired and rightly so. Think about it - the first game was Friday night about 8:30 p.m., the Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at noon. From the start of game 1 to the championship was 39 hours or a game every 13 hours. Auburn, meanwhile, played 4 games with the start of game 1 to the championship 72 hours or 18 hours apart. That's a game every 18 hours. Having those extra hours of rest makes a difference and the SEC has got to get out of this Sunday championship for that reason and others. Just my opinion. GBO! No excuses — just play smart and hard!!!

Your point is also true, would have loved to see this team hoist a trophy in the air and triumphantly bring it home to Knoxville and for them. lord, would have been great to see. My comment wasn’t at your post, necessarily, but at the several ones that I’ve seen since last night. Your post just highlighted the letdown since game. I still remember seeing Tyler cutting the net after LV won. My point only is that, regardless, this team has won over new fans, may not mean much as far as trophies go.

Well, I’ve filled out 2 brackets. In one I have us losing in the NC game to Duke. In the other I have us losing in the sweet 16 to Purdue.

Pomeroy ratings- Colgate is the best 15, Cincinatti is the worst 7, Iowa is the second best 10 (they have a bad defense, good offense). Cinci and Iowa are closely ranked. If it weren’t a virtual home game for Cinci, I might say Iowa pulls the upset

Villanova is the worst 6 and Purdue is the second best 3. We are nearly identical in rankings. If we end up facing them in the sweet 16, we are going to have to play nearly perfectly.
