To be honest Kyler not running a 40 hurt his stock to me at least.

Drew has 4 years in the SEC without missing a game, ran a 4.69 at the combine. Is 6'4" 220+ and has plenty of tape showing off his arm talent.

Kyler has some of the fastest feet I’ve ever seen. Dude gets to top speed in like 2 steps so I’m not worried about that.

Locke reminds me of jay cutler on the field.

Who the hell had Florida as a sleeper national title pick prior to last year?
I think he’s talking about 2017, which is a ridiculous point considering Vegas had their o/u at 8 wins. Who cares if some random journalist had them as a playoff dark horse. UT’s o/u was 7.5 that year iirc

While I completely agree with this...20 years, man. The VAST majority of 20 years. That's an entire generation that has only known hardship and mediocrity.

It's going to take time and a lot of winning at high levels to get back to late 90's, early 2000's level of respect and expectations from not just the national media but our own fanbase.

We older fans remember how it was and expect to get back there, like NOW...but it's going to take a lot of time and hard work.

We can, should and, hopefully, will make it.

I'm just enjoying this ride. People just need to realize that this TEAM and their gamesmanship, competitiveness, and humility is rare...and I'm going to miss the hell out of them when they're gone, regardless of the outcome...

But...LET'S GET THAT NATTY!!

Yep, it was a long way down and a steep climb back. We won the division in FB four times between 2000 and 2007—and haven’t won it since. We won the BB regular season SEC title in 2008, then in 2018. So the Great Drought has lasted a decade. WBB is following the same pattern-- dominance... a dropoff... then disaster.

To paraphrase Hemingway, our decline happened two ways: gradually, then suddenly.

I blame the ADs. They ruined us

Both teams coming off 4 win years, funny how a lot of that talent wasn’t high on people’s radar until Mullen came in.

The big difference between the two teams was that both of Florida’s line of scrimmage was more seasoned and better than ours.... Florida’s biggest weakness was QB which happens to be a Mullen’s strength.

Experts? More than a few. It was in the threads of that season. Talking heads Booger McFarland and Marcus Spears I think were onboard.
Booger was down on the SEC that year, Spears predicted the East but not playoffs. You’re probably thinking of Phil Steele who was tabbed as his sleeper team

The power struggle amongst the more wealthy and influential boosters (not JUST the Haslams), the BOT who lacked any direction other than disarray, the lack of a powerful University President, and an overall abandonment of utilizing our once ELITE sports programs as "the windows of the university..." all played a prominent role, not just our shoddy AD's.

I can't tell you how much it means to me to have a AD with some power and influence whose primary focus is the success of our athletics programs. Buildings, fund raising, and hob-nobbing with the boosters is important but it's secondary to fostering a winning culture. Winning opens up wallets. Fulmer knows that...hell, he's lived it.

Prolly. He wasn’t the only one. And they were ranked highly enough to conclude that their collapse wasn’t TALENT based.

There was some random guy on espn too, but I don’t remember his name. He was a nobody. There may have been others but those are the two I remember

Was UT not ranked to start 2017 too?
