Recruiting Forum Football Talk [RIP 9.3.2019]

Wow...letting Jones play is a huge mistake/oversight. I'm wondering how much the staff actually knew since April 30th he was entering transfer portal.

Steele (from his father's tweet) is for sure leaving. Unfortunate the students didn't pursue charges, it makes things more difficult on the police if they don't have anything (charges) to investigate further.

Really good article in the Athletic about the Steele transfer. One bit I didn't expect is they said with that transfer that Florida doesn't have a single 5 star on their roster. And each of the last 3 years they've lost one of their highest rated recruits before even playing a game.
7.5 win Dan naturally drifting to his sweet spot... needing to do more with less

The difference at UF is that they will not wait 6 years to get rid of a 7.5 average wins HC. They will go 4 at most and subject to declining trends they may only go 3.

And if they can’t reasonably do it, they will manufacture some off the field issue like they did with Sharky.

The real tragedy of our decline is that it happened concurrently with Florida being a dumpster fire. We are just a much, much bigger dumpster fire.

Yep and the good news is that will be back to back.

Something to build on.

But barring some big surprises... This rebuild is just gonna take longer than we thought.

Get me to year 4 or 5 with some 7/8+ win seasons in there and let's see where we are.

It just isn't gonna be a 2-3 year deal to get back to Championship form.
We’ve been down for so long that we’ve finally become realistic.

I just don't think there was ever reason to suspect it would be anything but a long rebuild. You can't have the kind of setbacks we keep having over a decade and it not have cumulative effects.

It's agonizing just how close we were in 2015. That team was championship caliber.

Humble Brag, I can photoshop "draw" better than this dude everyone keeps posting tweets from.

Can do it from any picture too. It's not complicated.

Two more recruiting classes just like Fulmer has said multiple times this spring.

7-8 wins this fall. 8-9 in 2020. And back to competing for the east with UGA and UF in 2021. If we somehow win 9 this fall then we'll get there a year sooner and compete for SEC in 2020 but that's optimistic.

But all this negative talk about Pruitt and his staff in recruiting, the awful overreactions on VQ and VN (I'm guessing the FB forum is worse than it's been in awhile just like VQ) are crazy to me. We have one of the best staffs in the country, not just the SEC, but anywhere. These guys are going to show real improvement this fall and we'll be going to a decent bowl this winter. The daily freakout because a 5star chooses a top 10 team over UT right now are ridiculous. Last year we sold playing time, this year its a tougher sell due to the NFL draft I'm guessing.

The bottom line is win games. Win 7+ this fall and recruiting will be much better in December/January and for the 2021 class. Patience...

Only a few on here.
I guess I can just speak for myself, but I’m so tired of being bad at football and equally as tired of the idea of changing coaches if it doesn’t work out within x number of years.

Give Pruitt 10 years to get it right. I just don’t have the fight in me anymore.

Like the screenshot shows he's in Adobe Illustrator...

I'm just saying, from what I've seen most of his sketches look to be traced from actual pictures. Which in adobe isn't difficult, I mean maybe he's free-handing it all, who knows. I'm friends with a guy that does actual design work and he has a stylus + tablet he sketches on then pulls into software to clean up. It's possible he's doing the same thing, if so that's pretty impressive. If he's just tracing pictures it's not that difficult to do in Photoshop.
