This is a full rebuild. Right now, winning is making a bowl game. Do that with consistency and we can talk about chipping away at the Bama's and Georgia's of the world. If Pruitt can show he has us going in the right direction, more recruits will give us a look.

Exactly right. Pruitt will need at least 2 more solid classes to flesh out this roster. Until then winning seasons and bowling will be "progress". By the time he graduates last seasons class, we should be on solid footing and can hopefully start to close the gap with the Bama/UGA types.

6-6 this year and a good solid DL/OL recruiting class. Get qb of future on campus.

7 wins and its a coup.

make a bowl game, and its a diff story next year cruitin wise.

Good post. It really is that simple. I don't get why UT fans don't see that when they just witnessed the same method with Coach Barnes and staff. Muddled through a couple of years building a program and developing a roster with guys that were on the margins - mostly mid-major talent that would have required developing even with them. Got the buy-in and everybody went to work. Result - top three in the SEC and in the big dance with highly competitive teams after just two rebuilding seasons. Barnes is now in the conversation with most of the elite recruits and eventually will snag his share of the type he wants to keep the chemistry right.

It takes football longer because of the size or rosters needed to compete at a high level as well as the complexity of the game, even when you know you have top coaching talent. We appear to have the coaching. Now get out of our own way and adjust expectations to reality. When they win a game or two more than should be expected, the recruiting will follow.

I think some of us are interested to see how Barnes does next season before deciding that his process is foolproof.

“Relax, it’s just <insert month>“ can only last so long guys. It’s not an antidote for the recruiting concerns.

Expecting results on the field to be a major driver for the class is also a mistake. There’s no miraculous turnaround awaiting us this fall. Someone release the bagmen.
Agreed it can last only so long. Still think it's applicable right now. Also agree that winning to be the driver is probably not happening this year.

"What is winning?" I guess is the question. Can he likely pull a >.500 record and make a bowl each year with top 15 classes? I would sure hope so. But...can he ever win the East with top-15 classes in a time when UGA is destroying it at bagmanning? That's much more unlikely.

If he’s getting top 15 classes each year, then 7 wins better be the basement and if the best he can do is .500 with that, he’s not the guy. There are only 4 or 5 teams on our schedule any given year that are recruiting better than that.

We don’t have to win the east to break into the top 10 or even top 5 in recruiting. Pruitt’s just got to prove he can handle Vandy, Scar, UK, and Missouri with what he’s got before he can start recruiting like UGA, etc. Need 7 or 8 wins this year. If we struggle to hit .500 again, we can expect about the same in recruiting.

I think Pruitt expects to win more than we think he will. It will be interesting.

Hubris in recruiting & coaching may be his undoing. I will give you he completely changed the offense, and, it does take 2-3 cycles to change the program, further, truly hope he succeeds. He is a much better coach than predecessor, but, i do have a big ? mark around this staff of 'ace recruiters' right now in my mind. (Here come the its only .... crowd).

This goes back to last year in how they approached in staters. To this year. Also, what is their plan? I believe once this staff gets rolling they will truck the competition. But, is it that their general's plan isnt a good plan? Do we need to shuffle the deck?

Probably been said by now but you're twisting people's words.
No one has said "miraculous turnaround", just "win".

We had a losing season by 1 game, it's not a tall order to win this year. And don't decline, difference between optimism and deflation, morale wise.
It's their entire college FB experience, you're incorrect if you don't believe they want to avoid it being miserable imo.

Disagree with ya. Blah blah blah...extra words extra words.

XV-Nulla (the song)

In sunshine and shadow, from darkness till noon
Over mountains that reach from the sky to the moon.
A man with a dream that will never let go
Keeps searching to find XV-Nulla.

So ride, boldly ride, to the end of the rainbow.
Ride, boldly ride, till you find XV-Nulla.

The wind becomes bitter, the sky turns to gray.
His body grows weary, he can't find his way.
But he'll never turn back though he's lost in the snow
For he has to find XV-Nulla.

So ride, boldly ride, to the end of the rainbow.
Ride, boldly ride, till you find XV-Nulla.

My daddy once told me what a man ought to be.
There's much more to life than the things we can see.
And the godliest mortal you ever will know
Is the one with the dream of XV-Nulla.

So ride, boldly ride, to the end of the rainbow.
Ride, boldly ride, till you find XV-Nulla.

The classes receive their final ranks in February and VERY FEW have 100% the same makeup by then. After Jackson’s decommit, my first reaction was WE GOT MORE ROOM! Good luck changing that outlook, you morbid “realists”. 😎

Agreed. But I'd say if the development is there that gap could close a little sooner than after that first class graduates.

I'm full on in patience mode.

But I'm not native... We don't get where we ultimately want to get without beating bama, UGA and/or Florida sooner than later.

I don't think that's this year mind you, but I wouldn't be shocked if we find ourselves in position to maybe beat Florida this year?

But 20 & 21... Yeah at some point we need to beat one or both.

Either way... We're in the second off season of this staff.

It's way early to be having a lot of these conversations imo.

As for recruiting... Yeah there's no momentum, can't deny it.

But there's 7 months till the ESD.

There really isn't a reason to freak out yet. Especially if we have a decent season.

Outside of Niedermeyer, we’ve got a bunch of overrated recruiters.

Not saying they suck.... but they’re not proving to be elite. I mean, anyone can get to commit to a winning program/dynasty.

I'm not gonna argue with that because you could end up being correct.
But shouldn't it be based on class results, not speculation or perception months in advance?

Finding the right shoe is all that matters. My feet are a bit too wide for Nikes and I'm on my feet all day so that's a bad combination.

Try HokaOneOne Bondi model has a wide size. I stand all day on concrete floors and my feet love them. Try them on at a running store to be sure that your feet like them.
Then go online to get the best price. I wait for sales because I am definitely not paying full price for them.
Check the Hoka website, runningwarehouse.com, and frequently REI has great prices when on sale or clearance.
If you don’t get a wide model, read the description carefully because some of their models have a narrow toe box.
Hope that helps.

Most of them have been elite at other stops. Is that because of the stop or the person? Don't know, really.

I think they've done a more than adequate job of getting a program that's won 9 games in two years, coming of one the most bizarre coaching searches in CFB history, in consideration for many of the prospects we've gone after.

And landing several of them last cycle.

I think we need to win enough this season that some of those kids can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We should be able to relate. Many fans have taken a "show me" attitude.... What's wing with top prospects doing the same before committing some portion of their future here?

There’s a lot of discussion to quash concerns that recruits are waiting to see what we do on the field. What are they waiting to see that will get them on board? I just don’t think 6 or 7 wins is going to move the needle much with these top blue chip guys.

Yes, just bought the Salomon Hiking boots for our trek at Philmont in August. I have Salomon ski boots. I love the brand.

buddy used to sell their shoes. ive had owned 10 or more pairs of mids and lows. every single one fits different. they either fit perfect, or too big. he told me Salomon has several diff factories, and, each shoe fits diff bc of that. take fwiw.
