They don't see it because they don't want to. They think since they have waited so long, wanted it so bad and been patient with other coaches, then they should not have to wait any longer. This results in complaining about taking a 3* then falling apart because he decommitts. It is going to be an uphill battle. We need to concentrate on winning the war even if we lose some battles along the way.Good post. It really is that simple. I don't get why UT fans don't see that when they just witnessed the same method with Coach Barnes and staff. Muddled through a couple of years building a program and developing a roster with guys that were on the margins - mostly mid-major talent that would have required developing even with them. Got the buy-in and everybody went to work. Result - top three in the SEC and in the big dance with highly competitive teams after just two rebuilding seasons. Barnes is now in the conversation with most of the elite recruits and eventually will snag his share of the type he wants to keep the chemistry right.
It takes football longer because of the size or rosters needed to compete at a high level as well as the complexity of the game, even when you know you have top coaching talent. We appear to have the coaching. Now get out of our own way and adjust expectations to reality. When they win a game or two more than should be expected, the recruiting will follow.
You're awesome docTry HokaOneOne Bondi model has a wide size. I stand all day on concrete floors and my feet love them. Try them on at a running store to be sure that your feet like them.
Then go online to get the best price. I wait for sales because I am definitely not paying full price for them.
Check the Hoka website, runningwarehouse.com, and frequently REI has great prices when on sale or clearance.
If you don’t get a wide model, read the description carefully because some of their models have a narrow toe box.
Hope that helps.
I said relax it's just December a few months ago. It worked out. Even relax it's just January worked. Until signing day happens I will still be relaxed about this class. That is the only deadline for judgement.“Relax, it’s just <insert month>“ can only last so long guys. It’s not an antidote for the recruiting concerns.
Expecting results on the field to be a major driver for the class is also a mistake. There’s no miraculous turnaround awaiting us this fall. Someone release the bagmen.

Agree to disagree then. There’s a lot of discussion to quash concerns that recruits are waiting to see what we do on the field. What are they waiting to see that will get them on board? I just don’t think 6 or 7 wins is going to move the needle much with these top blue chip guys.

I have thought this for awhile.... that any recruit should see the staff we have and want to jump on board. Are you coming here to win? Absolutely. However, you’re coming here to be trained by some of the best in the country. Top to bottom (including support staff) there IS NOT a better staff in the country. I honestly don’t understand the draw back. You can’t put last years record on Pruitt. Anybody with a little bit of football knowledge and common sense should know that.I think you’re wrong. There’s no reason so much difference making talent should’ve signed on after 5 wins...but they did. 4 of which did after said 5 wins were on the books. Google for proof.

I am probably in the minority but I believe this offseason it matters a lot more what you are doing with the current team you have then the prospects you are bringing in. Obviously Recruiting is the life blood of your organization but you have to prove your point on the field this year.
That's a spot on analysis, IMO. Pruitt, I would think, has found the recruiting at TN is a little more challenging than he anticipated coming in to the job. It's certainly not his fault that recruits are skeptical of the program. He has to overcome a lot. I don't think he's the style of recruiter that is all sales with little substance (Butch Jones). I think that style can be successful for the short term but flames out in 2-3 years.
If you watch season 1, in one of the episodes, (8) I think, Costner's daughter takes a dude to a bar to get in his pants and there's a band playing in the background. The guy singing is Jonathan Tyler and I've known him, and his family, since he was in high school here in Dallas. His band is Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights. Great music. I believe he lives in Nashville now. I almost sh!t when I was watching Yellowstone and saw him singing in the bar scene. I thought it was coolAnyone seen a Kevin Costner series called Yellowstone?
Just saw the ad for season 2 and it looked really good but most things do in the ads.
