He clearly cannot process information in real time. He may just be slow.
I’m telling you JG would never start another game for me. He’s a great kid, but he’s not a winner at qbGotta wonder if benching JG and playing a freshman is worth it. At this point JG isn't going to get better, Maurer has a much higher ceiling . I say play him and gain exp. JG is so slow and has zero touch. If he hasn't learned it by now he never will.
What a terrible display today. No energy from anyone and that was from kickoff. The team looked confused numerous times but postgame comments were baffling to me. Clearly trying to give Georgia State credit but this was a rather weak and pathetic performance no matter who the opponent was. At some point you get tired of being kicked around...this group just doesn’t look like it bothers them after today. I’ve had several conversations with these players dating back to camp in June and they said all the right things. But words are words and that doesn’t punch anyone in the mouth. Pruitt loves to preach they compete each day and the best will play....id open it up and if a walk-on out performed some people this week then I’d play them. I really thought we would see some fire and passion after the game but I didn’t. Really just a head scratcher. Hard to see this team flip it on next week but honestly kids are kids and you can’t explain how things transpire at times.
A part of me, albeit very small, would actually watch with popcorn if the UT athletics just started imploding from the inside out. Fire Pruitt, get an even more head scratcher coach, fans dwindle to maybe 40k a game, not enough money is coming in, other programs start hurting, and UT athletics is basically Candy from 20 years ago.
