I’ve never really bought into this line of thinking. If fan support equaled wins this program would be in the upper echelon year in and year out.

We’re here to talk about the Vols and what we think about x, y and z. Not pretend everything is OK and self censor our true thoughts and expectations.

I’m not saying you tweet recruits/players how much we suck or protest every Saturday until the coach you don’t like is removed - but we can be honest with ourselves.

I don’t buy we the small guy fan matters. Even if we start some dumb boycott it doesn’t matter. If the losses mount the high end Donors and former players will be what matters.


No matter how bad last week was there are good coaches, good players and good people in that program. I think supporting them as they try to overcome the worst loss in program history is appropriate

I do take that salary as "intention to keep" kinda pay. But it was reported somewhere that 1.6 was our second offer after Ga met our first, along with "something Ga couldn't offer". Which I believe it was to do with his daughter and her passion for equestrian blah blah. Don't remember exactly but I definitely do remember the "didn't want anyway" stuff was from butthurt Ga supporters.

Brent does stuff like that all the time. He words something poorly or accidentally leaves out a key word .. and VQ freaks out. Then he comes back later and writes a clarification post. You always have to wait for Brent's clarification any time he makes a controversial post.

In this case, Brent also had a previous post saying he doubted Pruit would be fired this year even if he went 3-9 because of the 11 million buyout. You just brought Brent's poorly worded "freak out" post to VN, but did not bring his previous post or his clarification post.

With respect to the buyout - I thought the tweet that was posted here a few times over the weekend put it at 5 million this year. Does the rest of the staff’s combine to make 6 million?

No sir. I just don’t think we’re doing ourselves justice as a fanbase if we allow ourselves to jump back in after BYU and UTC.

Those are games 99% of us expected to win this offseason. I get you adjust expectations based on results - but to me this ship has left the port.

Go beat Florida, or look semi-competent down there and I’ll be willing to say something has changed.

I'm in the same boat but I think my issue is with the way you phrase it. If we are 2-2 or worse after Florida, we will not recover from that.
