Fulmer gonna have to step in. Gotta stabilize the program somehow if the wheels come off. Just can't roll the dice on another no name coach, and that's all we would be able to get. Even Kevin Steele would turn down the job at that point, because we would be locked into 3-9 territory for a while.
Each coaching hire seeks to correct the glaring weakness of the previous.

It would not be a coordinator but a sitting head coach. He would be articulate, and possibly older with lots of experience

I'm in the same boat but I think my issue is with the way you phrase it. If we are 2-2 or worse after Florida, we will not recover from that.
Yeah, I fully expect to stomp a mud hole in BYU this weekend, but I don’t think it means much one way or the other. The Florida game will give us a much better temperature check.

One thing I’ll never understand is how we seemingly need guys on the OL and DL who are 5-star top 20 recruits for them to look halfway decent. And even then half of them are busts. But other teams just load up on 2-stars and 3-stars and everything is fine. I get that those are developmental positions but even then our blue chip guys who are actually decent rarely pan out to be world beaters, whereas it seems EVERY blue chip guy we miss out on goes on to be a first round pick.

I would think you were talking about Les, but you said articulate.

With respect to the buyout - I thought the tweet that was posted here a few times over the weekend put it at 5 million this year. Does the rest of the staff’s combine to make 6 million?
Brent said 11 million buyout in his post. I also heard it drops by 1 million each year .. so I am assuming it is Pruitt's buyout if he gets fired. The 5 million may be what Pruitt has to pay UT if he leaves on his own.

edit: I just looked up his contract details and it does look like a 5 million buyout if he gets fired this year. The 11 million may be the entire staff.

We haven’t had a good OL coach since Pittman. Before that, we hadn’t had a good one since Mike Barry. Some may even say since Doug Marrone, but I thought Mike was pretty good.

They already dumbed it down and looked like the Bad News Bears of football. I guess they could stay in one package and see if they can master that. Offense was plain vanilla and never changed. Offensive production should improve just by keeping the playmakers on the field and getting them the ball.

Chandler sat after the fumbles and JJ was targeted 8 times. I believe he caught 7. Pruitt's rule has been if you fumble, you sit. So Chaney is enacting that. If he disagrees, maybe he'll change it up. Chandler, Gray, JJ, Callaway and DWA-- put the ball in their hands and let them carry us.

Then why doesn’t JG sit. You can’t have players being afraid of making a mistake.

Man... did Pruitt actually lose the team beyond repair before Mizzou and Vandy last year and now we see him trying to placate everyone? What is going on here?
Never really noticed but you have a way of asking a question sounding a lot like a sick to my stomach implication, that just happens to be followed by a question mark.🤔

That’s not what the MOU said. Firing without cause cost UT 6 million and drops by 1 million each year after the first.
