One thing I'll point out, we've been very cautious about using Hooker this year in the running game so far.

3 games and he has 3 attempts for 22 yards (2 TDs though). Last year he finished with 166 attempts for 616 rushing yards (which was 1st on the team in attempts). He also ran for 9 attempts against Pitt in his first real action, then followed that up with another 9 carries against TTU.

We'll see more of his legs now that we're into the SEC schedule. Teams haven't been able to get pressure or cover receivers well enough to force him to use his legs. Wouldn't surprise me if he has a big game running against Florida if they try to get cute with their pass coverage.

If we score 34 in regulation that’s likely a 2 touchdown win.

That's all I am hoping for. I am by no means guaranteeing a win. Like others have said, I do believe we have the team to do it. We can't shoot ourselves in the foot like we did against Pitt that we can agree on. You can't keep doing that week in and week out. I do hope we see the sharper Hooker this week and you know CH has been trying to correct it and if anyone can he can. I'm just saying for the first time in 10 years we actually have a team that can go out and win on a weekly bases with exception of course of a couple of team BUT even they are a possibility if they don't come out and play their A game.

I didn’t know that value the first few years I spent on VN. Now it’s not an exact science. I have a few posters on ignore who are decent to good…not even negavols. There was just nothing there. Not sure why I haven’t included Jack. Mebbe it’s because he goes into his morose hole for long stretches when things are promising. If we were to lose Saturday, he’d be back in force stressing the need to hire a “proven coach” after firing Heupel next season. 😴
It's almost hurtful that butchna has me on ignore, but not Jack Burton....

That’s exactly what I’m saying. If we play like we should it won’t be close. But now someone else has to fill Tillman’s role and it won’t be easy.
We don't have to have the same production from that person.

We just have to get production. And it will just be more spread out vs 18 targets to one guy.

It's a big loss at a terrible time. But one wr really shouldn't be the death nail for this team given how the offense works.

I have only 3 people on my ignore list only because it was way too much negativity for me..especially when there is a ton of stuff to be happy about.🤗 and one of them is Jack..I just can’t..

Death nail. Another vnism. I like it.

Will be interesting...most the time in big situations you know (and the opponent knows) that Tillman is likely getting the ball.

With him not on the field who do they decide to focus on and will it open up someone else to make a big play? Really this game will be about our OL though. They need to force Florida to have to send extra defenders to get pressure and/or stop the run. If Florida can drop 7 and still get pressure and keep our running game in check then we're in an uphill battle.

Agreed. He will run it more in SEC. Just an extra weapon in the arsenal

The lengths some posters will go to in order to "keep it real" about UT's performance and future success predictions are hilarious to me. First of all, UT has shown flashes but has not been consistent with execution. Check. Secondly, who cares if other fans do not carry your level of trepidation. The poster points out a less than flattering play or stat. Another fan responds with evidence that, is also accurate, but focuses on an area that looks more promising. Then here comes the other poster....but, but, but what about this other stat or play that they reached into the bag and found?!?! I mean whatever floats your boat and gets your jollies, but why? Seems weird to me. That's all.

So not negative on the hire, but negative on the coaching search and roster. Literally on Day 1 I called it a bridge hire which I changed my mind on before the first game, but if we reviewed everyone’s Day 1 reaction I doubt they’re all glowing. People were pissed saying Danny White took the easy route but most digested the news and came around with a revised opinion later. But Day 1 I also hoped we’d be at 40ppg and fun to watch so that’s a good reminder. I did donate to charity on my totals bet with Devo though.

Pitts D is good. But Pitts D isn’t why Hooker has had first quarter struggles this year. And further, WV ran the ball on Pitt the weak before, we didn’t run it at all against them and really didn’t even try. I think that probably says a lot about where our coaches feel the run game is currently.

To be fair, WVU rushing offense is #28 in the nation and it was the first game of the year. Pitt didn’t really know what to expect and WVU then proved they can run the ball well. Since that game Pitt only gave up 91 to us and 50 to Western Michigan. It’s a small sample size but Pitts rush defense is better than it looked first game. I also think our running game is better than it’s looked so far at #56 in rushing offense. Only question is our RB room on Saturday.

I know Heupel acknowledged he learned the importance of this rivalry 30 seconds on campus. I really hope he realizes that to the average Tennessee fan, this is not a gentlemen's war. After all of the years of Gator losses, there literally should be zero brakes. There is not a point amount scored that I would feel an ounce of pity for the Gators. I don't care if Tennessee is up 56-0, I want Milton in there throwing bombs for touchdowns. All gas, no brakes. No mercy. We can't get 16 years of revenge in one year, but by God we should try.
