The difference here is that we have played two ranked teams and they've played one. Against Florida Levis had 200 yards 1 td and 1 pick.

Hooker has also only played a half in two games we've played. Levis played all four quarters in every game they've played. All of his stats have come against three cupcakes.

For sure. I'm not saying he's better than Hooker. But based on his size, his system, his stats the NFL talking heads will continue to talk about him.

I wonder why other fanbases hate us… lol

Risk reward calculations are in play too. That extra half a mil might be tempting knowing you are a career ending play away from your whole world changing. I don't even want to speculate on what I would do in your dilemma situation. Bird in the hand plus the prevailing "they will find you wherever you play" mantra, supported by the player introductions on Sunday complicates the logic.

In one way I think it will help the overall balance of talent when some schools will be willing to spend bigger money on a position than others. I think that is where we are on several guys, even when Spyre has the money in the bank. Player and family needs and priorities can very different, and I am not going to throw shade on them without knowing their circumstances. So some very talented guys end up places other than the top 5 when NIL was not a factor. How that impacts the remaining pool by position is TBD as they deal with the same decisions. Grew up a fan, home state hero, playing for a championship, playing time, game day experiences for the family, playing for a coach, and all the other factors are still in play too, but Where the MONEY TALKS falls in for players is more in play now than ever.
Money ruins everything

NFL scouts love his measurables. But he's a pretty crappy college QB tbh.

That dude hit 200 yards in one power 5 game last year, and it was against us, and our defense was atrocious. Think about that. One 200 yard game. I don't know of any other QB that's even average that has that type of stat.

And this year, one power 5 team, and he barely made it over 200 yards again.

Yeah, I think he's a less productive Ryan Leaf waiting to happen. But I don't think he's going to be a top 2 pick so maybe not.

Success story. He was an afterthought when the season started. Now, no way we beat Florida without him. He deserves all the praise he is getting.

We tend to write a lot of guys off if they happen to be sitting behind other guys on the depth chart.

"If they were any kind of good, they would be starters. Our backups are all crap and we have no depth at any position."

I mean he's got the size 6'3" 220+ and he's not having a bad year if you look at his stats.

79 of 117 for 67.5% 1185 passing yards 10 TDs 4 INTs

Hooker for comparison
81 of 113 for 71.7% 1193 passing yards 8 TDs 0 INTs (175 rushing yards and 3 TDs)
Florida stats compared below and I know this is cherry picking but it’s the only shared opponent so far.

Levis
13 for 24 202yds 54.2 completion%1 TD 1 INT Rating 130.3

Hooker
22 for 28 349yds 78.6 completion % 2 TD 0 INT Rating 208.6

I think the question I’m asking myself is what would happen if the two swapped teams. Well, both have done that before. In looking at their limited samplings from VT and PennState, Hooker showed that he’s good at taking care of the football and Levis not so much. They both run effectively when they need to, and both have a pretty good feel for the pocket. Kentuckys offense looks more “pro style” but I’m not sold on Levis’s ability to break down a defense and improvise when he needs to. Hendon has shown that and did a great job of that last week. Unfortunately, the talking heads seem stuck in their ways and I think Levis’s arm, size, and NFL “look” will keep his draft stock ahead of Hendon.

I think he’s overhyped but Levis can definitely improvise. His rushing stats suck bc their OL has been absolutely awful this year. If we can’t take advantage of that when we play them then it’ll be another shootout like last season.

Levis has 812 rushing yards and 17 TDs with a 3.0 YPC average for his career.
Hooker has 1824 rushing yards and 23 rushing TDs with a 4.1 YPC average for his career.

Hooker separates himself big time from Levis (and most QBs) when you factor in his legs. But NFL scouts love a big white boy who can throw it far so Levis will probably go before Hendo in the draft unless he really drops off this year in SEC play (which could happen).

This is almost ALWAYS my first worry...but I legit just had my yearly physical and nothing came up of concern. But maybe the stuff they typically test wouldn't be enough to show clots?

You would need to have a venous ultrasound of both lower extremities. Typically would have extensive swelling and they would feel warm to the touch. Is what I do for a living.

Hope you feel better!

Sure. And Hendon's getting some attention too, which is good. However, there are things like this in the article:
"He just needs to continue to work on his pocket poise, his timing and his accuracy under pressure, but he's one of the more intriguing quarterback prospects in this class,"
And I think WTF. Those are some pretty big misses...shouldn't you be looking at QBs who have these things figured out, if we're talking a TOP FOUR PICK? Also, when someone isn't ready to fully go all-in on their opinion, they use "more" instead of "most", to indicate that they want to sound like he's impressive, when really he's upper-middle of the pack. That's like me saying "Neyland Stadium is one of the more impressive stadiums in the country," as opposed to "Neyland Stadium is one of the most impressive stadiums in the country." Which one sounds better to you?

Then there's this:
Josh Allen had some inconsistencies with accuracy and timing as well, but we've seen how that has played out.
Okay, so because Josh Freaking Allen had some inconsistencies, then that means that Will Levis having the same ones means he'll be the next QB coming? Give me a break. These people are shilling for Levis. I bet he drops out of the first round at least, by the draft.

Oh, and there's this too:
As [Levis] gets more comfortable and better rhythm in this scheme, I feel like he will be playing even better football at the end of the season than what he's putting on tape right now.

This means he isn't putting super great things on tape right now. But they expect him to, based on........ At best, Levis is unproven.

I was just thinking about that game. I can't decide who I think is gonna win. I'm just thinking UK defense might give OM fits. I think they are solid on defense.
I think it will be the opposite. I think we're better than OM and that Levis will have a great game against them, then we'll expose him. That won't stop the Hype train from running off the rails by the time we play Kentucky though...

He’s a superstar. Reminds me of Ryan Leaf. Can’t miss.
