I own my misunderstanding of his path since he became a HC. The types he coached up as an OC are maybe not 180’s from the dual threats he recruits now but at least 90 degrees. In retrospect, I wonder how vigorously he recruited Ty Simpson and just how many letters went out to Arch Manning.
That one weapon is the one that really makes this offense so hard to stop. Like Hooker, Milton can really run when he needs to, he just does it differently.

If Milton can get over his in-game vapor lock and just relax and go with the flow Hendon was talking about...the "fluidity" of Heupels offense...he really could win the Heisman. With his arm, all a reciever has to do is get a little room and Milton can drive the ball to him, and with his legs he can run away from, or just run over defenders when it is there.

I hope it happens...if there are any doubts still in recruits minds after the job JH has done with Hooker about how much money he can make them...fixing Milton would be his Sistine Chapel. It would solidify JH as the best in the business for QB development.

This will be their Super Bowl. They'll put everything they have into it, because nothing would mean more to them than spoiling our season after their's fell apart.

The rebounded about back-2-back defeats to truly stun Mississippi State's offense. Chris Rod is an animal. They have 2 weeks to prepare coming off that big win.

It's going to be a bruiser. We can forget about everything if we don't take care of business and/or lose key players in that one.

Okay. Y’all obviously don’t know how this run to a championship is done. Don’t worry about future opponents. Tomorrow’s game is all that matters (lest we forget Georgia State). All that matters right now is UT Martin.

Y’all can get your knickers twisted about kentucky after the end of the game Saturday. I can guarantee that this coaching staff is only focused on UT Martin. They have this team focused on UT Martin. They won’t come out flat, unprepared, or distracted by a future opponent.

These Volunteers are going to come out focused, prepared, and steamroll our Homecoming opponent. Then they will begin to prepare for the next opponent.

As I have said before, before the season, this staff already has plans for each and every opponent. They have an offensive scheme and a defensive scheme that they are tweaking as the season progresses with changes in the opponent strengths and weaknesses.

If you doubt me look at the game plans for florida and bama. Stop the run. Don’t let the mobile qb hurt us running. Make them play the perfect offensive game to beat us. Oh, and then have our offense score so much that even their qbs best game ever isn’t enough.

The players believe in themselves and their coaches. That’s the first time in over a decade. Their performances just cements that belief and makes them stronger as a team. They truly believe that they are going to beat each opponent each week. You can see it in their execution and confidence. They are having fun winning.

These players are giving us their best. They deserve no less than our best.

Time to lock the vestiges of your bvs away. Once you have locked it away, pour mental cement over it and metaphorically throw it in the Tennessee river with the goal posts.

Come on.
We are 6-0 😎 wins over 4 ranked teams. We are ranked too low at 3 & 4…

It’s happening

15-0 🤠

Florida began with their own territory

UK took it from them in week 2

Then Ole Miss beat UK and took it from them and have not lost since.

This could get very confusing very quickly
The key is “you can only win territory if the team has some when you beat them”. It’s why UGA only has their home turf and Oregon’s. Every other FBS team they’ve beaten had already lost their’s.

I listened to a lot of Ward on the tailgate of a truck on Saturday afternoons after spending the morning in the deer woods. When John called a game not only did he paint a picture of what was happening but his voice captured the emotion, the energy of the stadium....the atmosphere of the moment. He could make you feel the nervousness of a measurement, the concern for an injured player, the comedy of a blooper play....all with his voice. You could hear a smile in John's voice just as you could hear the furrow of his brow. Some guys have a truly special gift and John's was his voice and his love for UT.
Bob is a good guy but he just doesn't have that and it's sorely missed by many including me.
Great post.

I always knew next year was going to be rough as far as replacing a lot of good experienced players, but maybe we can attract some equally or more talented players in the Portal to help plug a few holes.

Please quit borrowing trouble my friend. Bask in the glory of the present.

In every sport that Tennessee participates in, they are now going into championship mode.

The coaches and players in every sport have got this.

Enjoy it because this is our future.

Quit fretting about something that you don’t control, especially when it is not going to happen any way.

Live on the sunny side of life. Banish your bvs. It has no power over you anymore. We are no longer a joke.

Actually, the entire country is in a collective “oh sheet” when did Tennessee transform?

All the big time recruits are taking notice now. These coaches will not star gaze. If they don’t chase a player (in any sport) it’s because that player doesn’t fit.

i think he'd be a good play by play guy at a golf tournament.

enough time has passed now, but had the unfortunate job of replacing John Ward, and i'm sorry, those shoes are just too big to fill. and Bob just never really ingratiated himself with the fans like JW did. anybody that grew up still having to listen to TN games on the radio at any point probably felt like JW as part of your family. that's why everybody felt like they knew him. it's also why even though TN was on TV all time in the late 80's and throughout the 90's, people still turned the tV down and JW up.

Bob never had that opportunity...radio broadcasts are completely optional these days, and you were never "forced" to listen because that was your only option.

i do think there's something, still, to having a personality in that job that meshes with the fans. Bob's a great guy, nice guy. and he's not as bad as most think he is. but he's not even in the same stratosphere as JW, in any category.

he's ray perkins taking over after bryant.
Are radio broadcasts in sync with television broadcasts, accounting for the delay?

We should destroy them...and so far in his tenure Heupel and staff have shown that they are not in the habit of overlooking anybody...but players sometimes have an unfortunate habit of thinking too far ahead, and of understandably getting swollen heads and starting to think they can just roll their helmet out there and win.

They know they should annihilate UK, USC and Mizzou, and if they keep playing like they have been...they will, but if they get caught in La-La land...they can go down.

I once watched one of the most talented Vol teams with one of the greatest QBs of all time lose to Memphis f'n State...so forgive me if I NEVER feel comfortable against SEC teams....especially good ones.

I do understand that. I was at the game. I have put it in the past. Those same players then went on to win a National Championship. Don’t forget that.

LA no disrespect to you or anyone on here and I hate that I feel this way towards a kid, but I enjoyed his tears yesterday. I never felt like it was anything but a ‘Buisness decision’ and I’m glad he’s gone. I’m glad we have our kids.
I feel like all the vitriol towards HT is warranted bc of who he transferred too and some of the nonsense that he has done(business decision). That being said I don’t hold anything against the guys that transferred…. The people that we should be pissed at is the leaders at the university that let it get to that point.

I feel so blessed to have Boyd, Plowman, White, all the coaches leading our programs….. So thankful for the players that stayed and are now reaping the benefits of that decision… it would have been hard for me to stay if I was making that decision bc of how toxic the university of Tennessee had become.
