I always knew next year was going to be rough as far as replacing a lot of good experienced players, but maybe we can attract some equally or more talented players in the Portal to help plug a few holes.
Just look back at what everyone thought about these guys two years ago….. this staff will have a new group ready…. Might be a small step back bc of experience but we should still be rocking and rolling.

For those waiting on an update...

Took the battery loose and checked the terminals and cables. Bit of corrosion on the bottom of the negative terminal so I cleaned it off. Also cleaned up the battery posts as well. The positive terminal was a bit loose where the cables were connected so I tightened that all down and made sure to get both terminals tight when back on the battery posts. Will see if the issue comes back up again or not.

Started fine this morning though.

I remember when Kesling, Ted Hall, and Gene Patterson were "the Bowl Brothers". That was kind of amusing. But Bob just isn't that good at calling football. And part of it is who he followed, but part is he's just boring.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that…that was kind of entertaining to me as a kid.
To be honest though, I never gave him a chance from the moment he was announced. Part of it was knowing no one could follow John Ward, and the other part came from watching him on TV for many years and knowing what he had to bring to the gig—not a lot. It’s been ~25 years, it’s time to move on.

I do understand that. I was at the game. I have put it in the past. Those same players then went on to win a National Championship. Don’t forget that.

Those scars are too many and too deep...I now have chronic BVS and it will never completely go away. In my heart I think "wow we can really do this"...but my mind keeps reminding me of all those cruel gutwrenching losses...I keep waiting for the click to strike 12 and everything beautiful turn into a pumpkin.

Sorry...all I can say is that despite all that...I am still here and I will be even if midnight arrives.

Yeah...I think it will be ok.. I just want the train to keep building up momentum.

Put a meter on it while starting and see if it drops to 10.5 volts or lower. Prob a weak battery

Thing is when you create a culture like they have and you run a fun system to play in there isn't much "overlooking" anyone. Because every game is an opportunity to improve at what you do and have fun.

Hooker will want to come out and throw for 300+ and 3 or 4 TDs and it has nothing to do with trying to beat down UT Martin, it just means that he executed things well and was successful. And all of these guys have the same focus and goal on being in the CFP so each game you want to do just that. Execute at a high level and be successful regardless of how many snaps you get or which opponent you play.

JWT will want to hit 100 rushing yards just as much as Small, Wright, or Sampson will when they are in.

Who’s got the better defense? Removing the ass whoopin we gave Bama. Put Bama D side by side with Georgia. Who would y’all say is better?

Please quit borrowing trouble my friend. Bask in the glory of the present.

In every sport that Tennessee participates in, they are now going into championship mode.

The coaches and players in every sport have got this.

Enjoy it because this is our future.

Quit fretting about something that you don’t control, especially when it is not going to happen any way.

Live on the sunny side of life. Banish your bvs. It has no power over you anymore. We are no longer a joke.

Actually, the entire country is in a collective “oh sheet” when did Tennessee transform?

All the big time recruits are taking notice now. These coaches will not star gaze. If they don’t chase a player (in any sport) it’s because that player doesn’t fit.

And we have portal now which makes a YUUUUGE difference in reloading your team.

As doc says, we will win the games one at a time. The staff and players are doing it that way. So should we as fans. Just live in the moment and enjoy it to its fullest.

Hendon Hooker brings tears to my eyes. Our version of Tim Tebow. Does it on the field differently. Has a heart of faith that transcends the world. You are seeing something very special. It's time to just stop with the BVS. Positive thoughts and prayers energize the team.

There will be an occasional hiccup or an obvious cheat from officials. That will grow less with time as we bring our A game effort each week. Brings yours as true Vol fans.

On the field, the team presses the opponent in every aspect of play. The weak link is the secondary as they shuffle to find guys who are willing to do that without overthinking. I expect Tank back no later than UGA and hopefully by UK. He is limited physically but brings the attitude and tackles. The offense does that on every play and Heup wants to score on every drive. He has learned to not take the foot off the pedal unless well ahead and wanting to work clock.

Bama committed so many infractions they still didn't call them all. They could have called 30 obvious penalties if they wanted. It's what Bama does, it's who they are. Bama's O-line plays like O-lines do in the Big 10 - tacklers, grabbers, etc. Look at their stats over the past few years and watch their games as closely as you did with ours. The SEC has protected them and UGA for a decade now. However, with conference expansion and more eyes nationally on the product they began cleaning up some of their cronyism acts over the last year. We made some really dumb mistakes in that game. We are still learning how to put away opponents. But we still won. The team, coaching and fan effort was spectacular

It's time to realize we have entered a golden age of Vol athletics. Clean living and winning. May it reign forever. Amen.

This sounds like a dead or low cell. Had a newer battery that acted just like what you have been describing. Took it back to the auto parts store, they tested and then replaced it. No more problems.

Have done that, part of why I came on here asking for advice/ideas. Meter has always shown 12v on battery and 14v when running. I even put the battery under load (after cleaning it up). Heater running full blast and lights on bright and it still read 14v.

I am hopeful it was the loose positive cables and/or the corrosion on the negative terminal. I also noticed the ground bolt and wire to the battery was a bit rusted. So I'll likely remove that and clean it up or replace it if I have anymore issues pop up.

Georgia, by just having what looks to be a better secondary. But I think they're very comparable.
I figured it would come down to the secondary. The problem opponents are going to have with our O is finding ways to get pressure on Hendon. And even then, dude slips out and sneaks it up the field for 20 yards or finds that outlet receiver so quick. The only flaw in his game I’ve seen is the way he takes hits and slides like a newborn giraffe.
