How many real difference makers enter the portal? How many schools will be trying to snag them? I'm just not as convinced as some that the portal will be a magic cure-all. I certainly hope it is, I just don't have faith that it will be.

I agree. I'm generally not a huge fan of the portal or of JUCO's. Particularly now that we have a coaching staff that actually successfully develops our players, I'd rather bring in high school recruits for 4/5 years.

Had a couple fighter jets flying over South Knoxville yesterday evening and this morning. I bet that's what is doing the flyover tomorrow. We had helicopters earlier in the year.

It is going to be loud. I guess all fighter jets are, but these guys were shaking the windows, should be pretty awesome.

They are bringing the thunder to Neyland. F-35's. They were practicing yesterday.

TN opened the season with wins over Pitt and Florida before Kansas faced a team above 500 (and that was a Duke team with a soft open to their season).

The overall take was they were under ranked. The example was the bad part, but just didn't seem like the taken was so horrible it needed to be dredged up weeks later. Our resume at that time wasn't that much better.

I think they fly subsonic when they flyover the stadium. The window shaking is when they break the sound barrier. If they did that flying over the stadium, they’d fly past so fast that it’d be tough to see them lol. I remember the first time I heard a sonic boom from a US Fighter jet when I was a little kid. I thought it was an earthquake.

The US military never ceases to amaze me technologically. A lot of problems with recruitment nowadays, but the brute force of how far advanced we are compared to everyone besides maybe China (they beat us to hypersonic missiles) is enough to win most conflicts that don’t go nuclear.

When I found out we launch jets off our carriers with electromagnetic propulsion I realized we are truly in the future lol

Yeah, subsonic. If they were flying full throttle, they’d scream past you and, at that altitude, probably leave you deaf. But either way, hard not to get a little emotional in a patriotic way seeing those. Every game I’ve managed to drag my dad to, he always hopes we get a flyover.
