Yeah I mean from a gameday-Gameday atmosphere it's not the best they could do but its really cool and great for those programs and IMO great for college football. The HBCUs have a long rich history of college football and it would be cool for them to be great again.
But also its a great depiction of how underfunded and disregarded the HBCUs are. Old infrastructure and lack of a financial ability to keep up facilities and beautify campuses.
Johns Hopkins receives 7 times more research funding than all 101 HBCUs combined.
100 American universities have endowments greater than $1B.
7 HBCUs have endowments greater than $100M. None above $1B.
Non-HBCUs receive $1,600 more federal dollars per student than HBCUs do.
An SEC school can bat it's eyes and get $100M from taxpayers and donors. And HBCUs would have to have dirt on someone for half that. Not at all a political point I'm making - just the reality of the situation.
