Agree with all of that. But there was absolutely no reason to be that juvenile to a dad that was obviously sensitive about it because of his son. I absolutely hate when people try to bring others down to make themselves look like the smart, wise, superior person.
Don't underestimate his relationship with Danny White and how much he might come to love it here. Not saying he won't leave but it's not a slam dunk he will, IMO.He won't leave for a coordinator role I don't think, but we're kidding ourselves if we think hell turn down a bunch of NFL head coach offers. I think NFL teams will want to see a couple more years of sustained success before they offer him a HC job though.
This 1000000000000%----------We have a large portion of our fans who seem to live miserable lives and want to bring everyone around them down to their misery. They just can't seem to be happy for our success------doom and gloom is around the corner ^%#*&^)(#$^%**(Unbelievable......no I take that back....par for the course. We have a team and coach that are having a GREAT season ,playing for the #1 ranking in college football and now we may be losing our coach to the NFL. You have got to be kidding. Can we as a fan base just enjoy what we have for a change ?
Not every coach wants to go to the pros and the ones that have usually flop or just can't handle the pressure. CJH is a great offensive mind but the match ups we have in college are MUCH different than the NFL. There are grown men making millions in the NFL for a reason...they are ALL good and if they make a mistake the NFL stands for NOT FOR LONG because they will find someone that can make the plays the next week, plus the TV timeouts and substitute rules make the hurry up we play much less effective. If it would work in the NFL they would ALL be doing it, think about that, they are playing for MONEY not trophies.
And Matt Rhule is now just another ridiculed and fired throwaway. Some very successful college coaches. Don’t think the NFL has made a run at Ryan Day? Matt Campbell? Wouldn’t be surprised if they had talked to Dabo at some point. David Shaw was a hot NFL name and he kept choosing Stanford. Harbaugh has been talked about in NFL front offices but has chosen to stay in college (a little different since he’s already been there).
Matt Rhule clearly wanted the NFL but not all college coaches do.
Turning down Offers are one thing. Turning down inquiries is different. In order to turn one down, you have to at least be interviewed and offered. MANY have “turned down” opportunities to interview. That's your opinion. Show me the evidence. I'm not trying to win an argument, I genuinely want to see evidence (not just speculation) that college coaches regularly turn down NFL HC offers. I can only base my opinion on my (admittedly limited) personal knowledge of situations. If you have hard facts to the contrary, I'd love to see them.
LOL someone asks you to provide evidence to help them better their opinion and your response it to tell them their opinion is meaningless. You're a swell human.
