An extremely wealthy, ridiculed, and fired throwaway. Who could also have his pick of many good college openings. Heupel could make the jump to the NFL, fail horribly, and still come back to college with a plethora of good opportunities. And Matt Rhule is now just another ridiculed and fired throwaway.
Those jokes aren't new.Really? It’s obvious a parent who has a child that has to breathe through their mouth for medical reasons would be sensitive to the new “mouth breathers are dumb” jokes. And, yes, cruel kids would definitely use that on others kids even if it was because of a medical problem.
You say the NFL is the "highest level" ..who has the greatest reputation in coaching football today..Bill Belichek?...ok, and then who is next?...It is undeniably Nick Saban and it sure as hell ain't because of what he did in Miami.IF it happens, and so far you've offered no evidence other than "I'm sure it happens it must happen," it's rare, and we shouldn't assume the exception will happen with heupel. I don't think he gets a slew of HC offers unless he's super successful next year as well, but I think it's far more naive to think someone would turn down the highest level of coaching and turn down a chance to spend infinitely more time at home with family.
I prefer window licker61% of adults identify as having to breathe through their mouths. I have a severely deviated septum and almost exclusively have to breathe through my mouth.
Using "mouth breather" as an insult really doesn't move the needle for me, and I'm usually accused of being sensitive to stuff like that. I've never seen anyone actually be offended by it. It really means nothing. Its a very old phrase that describes the stupid look on someone's face when their mouths are casually hanging open. It doesn't actually mean people who breath through their mouths are dumb, and I'd like to encourage whoever truly is bothered by that phrase to think about that.
I know some people feel like every time we clear a hurdle, there is somewhat of a discounting of it by looking towards a future opponent and their strengths. I haven’t been one of those people, but I think it is very legitimate to say that GA will be the most complete team we’ve faced. And I think most would agree that the gumps would be the second most complete.
So, how to AL and GA compare? The categories I think I can make and educated guess at are these:
QB - AL is better
RB - AL is better
WR/TE - GA is better
DB - GA is better
So what does everyone think about the other positions? Which one is better at OL, DL, LB?
I certainly don’t think their defense can shut us down, but maybe they can hold us to less than AL. And how does our defense do against their offense?
I hope we’re hitting on all cylinders this week.
You know, I never thought of it that way, but that sure is true. You say the NFL is the "hghest level" ..who has the greatest reputation in coaching football today..Bill Belichek?...ok, and then who is next?...It is undeniably Nick Saban and it sure as hell ain't because of what he did in Miami.
If you want to be a legend and leave a true great legacy...stay in college and excel, outside of Belichek the days of being a beloved HC legend in the NFL are long gone.
I didn't actually say it. A fellow Vol fan asked me to think about it and I did. I have chosen to be more sensitive about it. Idc if you use the term or not. I am not going to condemn anyone who uses that term. You do you and I'll do me. We will continue to get along just fine. You can't say anything without somebody being a freakin baby about it. Everybody is just looking for something to get pissed about.
You did nothing wrong.
For craps sake people...get a freaking grip..
It is ridiculous.Really? It’s obvious a parent who has a child that has to breathe through their mouth for medical reasons would be sensitive to the new “mouth breathers are dumb” jokes. And, yes, cruel kids would definitely use that on others kids even if it was because of a medical problem.
One of the greatest things about winning yesterday is that it almost guarantees Tennessee will do NO WORSE than the Sugar Bowl.
I’m still hoping for the playoff obviously, but even if Georgia wins and for some reason Tennessee doesn’t make the playoff, they’ll be in line for the Sugar Bowl.
Glad Vikes (Heup's fav) have a new HC and a winning record.Tony Romo expects NFL teams to target head coach of SEC team
Let’s all hope Romo is very wrong on this. Romo says he’s heard Heupel is on NFL radar’s.
