Kinda feels like ‘98, don’t it? :)

If we can get this 22 defense playing like the 98 defense then no other team will come close to beating us.

*I honestly believe if the defense keeps playing like they played last night, we will win the SEC Championship and the National Championship

This is where the WR hit turf:

This was where he got spotted:

The next play Levis also got a ridiculous spot, this was the drive with the first pick after Slaughter blew up that WR. Obviously it didn't matter, but how in the hell are officials this bad at spotting where someone was down? Hell the Umpire is staring directly at the WR as he hit the ground.
Devil’s advocate: the umpire is not responsible for the spot. He’s more than likely trying to help with possession. I can’t remember the original line of scrimmage but the short wings responsible for the spot could have been 15 yards or more behind the play so a difference of half a yard or so isn’t unreasonable in real time.

Doesn’t mean the booth can’t help them out and buzz down to make sure they got it right.

I didn’t have a problem with people joking about it. I didn’t really care one way or another that the dad said what he did. I would not have cared if someone would have said what you just did about it. It was the condescending ridicule that got to me. And if it had been his first time, I would have probably thought “goodness” and went on. Just can’t stand people who try to belittle others.

And I love you too, and I am a sweet person until I get all Irish defending others. 😂
That is why I have dude you were arguing with in the VN trash bin.

The conversation on here this morning was people talking about their favorite TN teams. To me, this is my favorite team of all time. It is even better than the National Championship team. Let me tell you why.

My daughter has never understood my passion for the VOLS. She never even liked college football. She used to laugh that I would get so upset about, in her words, "just a silly game". Sadly, she had never watched a game with me. This year she finished grad school and started a great job. Since she was finally working and making her own money, she told me she would get me anything I wanted for my birthday within reason. I immediately thought of VOL tickets.

Since we live in Louisiana, I wasn't going to let her spend what it would cost for us to go to a game in Neyland. That was just too much money for her since she had only started her job a month before this. I have only been to Neyland once. Unfortunately, I had a heart attack at the start of the game and spent the entire game in a medical room. Didn't get to see even 1 play. Sorry, I digress. I knew we played at LSU this year, so that was the perfect game. My best friend's 60th birthday was also that weekend. She told me to invite him, so I did. I was like a little kid at Christmas time when she told me the tickets showed up on her phone. The game was all I could talk about for nearly 2 months.

The Friday before the Florida game, she invited me over to her house to watch the game. I was stunned and so excited. We watched the VOLS play together for the first time ever. She laughed at me when I warned that even up 17 the game wasn't over. She did not know the last 20 years of VOL football like I did. She was so excited when we won. Now she was talking about the upcoming LSU game as much as I was.

The day finally arrived. We headed to Baton Rouge. It was myself, my best friend, my daughter, and her fiancée. Love everything about that boy except for the LSU shirt he wore that day. It was a climb to the nose-bleed section, but we had a blast. It was fantastic day.

During the Alabama game she kept calling me for updates while she drove home. When she made it home, we spent the last 30 minutes on speakerphone yelling and cheering for now OUR VOLS. She was out eating with friends during the Kentucky game but she still texted " what a way to start" and "Go VOLS" when we went up 30-6. This morning I woke up to a text inviting me over to her house to watch the Georgia game.

I obviously want us to win next week, but in my mind we have already won. No amount of W's in the win column will ever match the joy of seeing my daughter become a VOL fan. Hopefully I live to enjoy many games and maybe even national championships with her. I will never forget the coaches and the players on this team. I wish I could personally tell them all just how much a "silly game" can mean in life.

GO VOLS
Great story Brother, post more often

That’s why he said stop the run without involving the DB’s. Nobody runs a base 4-3 or 3-4 anymore. Uga will stay in nickel and dime the whole game
I thought what I meant was obvious...I did not think anybody would think I literally meant them devoting 7 guys to stopping the run...lol

When we hired Heupel I watched some UCF games. My biggest takeaway that I commented on was everyone moved so fast and looked like they knew exactly where they were supposed to be. This is a perfect example.
This team is so well coached.
I am so loving every minute of it!

I think the Vols are a nightmare matchup for Georgia.

Our O line will give Hooker time and our WR and scheme will win!

They will try play man and Hooker will call/adjust at the line. I imagine our offense will be very balanced based on what they try do.

Our defense will be tested and stretched.

Their TE will win against our LBs and DBs.

We can stop their run. And we can limit their WR.

If they can keep up with us by over leveraging their TE and leaning on Bennetts arms and legs then good form then.

But they won’t. They are the team that needs to play a perfect game. They won’t.

We will win!
This is another game we will need Hookers legs too. Cedric, Bru and Ramel need to win their one on ones too

The day after the Alabama game I order a "I will give my all for Tennessee today!" sign at my 9 year old daughter's request to put above her door. She and I were discussing it and I told her it was a good message because, even though she wasn't on or around the team, there were many things that she could do in her every day life to benefit her state/her home. I told her that we should strive to go out each and give our all for our family and community.

I'd like to challenge you all this week, on the precipice of what might be the biggest game of the last 23 years, to give your all for Tennessee! Whether you're the rat catcher of a small, podunk, Godforsaken town in the middle of nowhere OR the rat catcher for a thriving metropolis that constantly smells like a big steaming turd, please go out and give your all this week!

I'm not sure what, if any benefit, it will be to our Tennessee Vols but hell, it might make life better for one or two of us... and rowing the boat is a lot easier to brag about than riding in it.

Good luck and Godspeed this week Volunteers. GO BIG ORANGE! Let's beat the brakes off those Bulldogs and also hit our monthly rat quota!
