No...but the public as a whole could. That is exactly what happened with Peyton.
i wouldn't get excited or anxious about the heisman. talk about prisoner of the moment........

if you really wanted to give it to the best player in football....the truth is it's probably not any of the guys getting the most run. it's a popularity contest and i think when it's all said and done, they'll do what's easiest and that's give it to the OSU or USC qb, cause, why not?

drake maye at UNC has had a better year than pretty much any of these QB's.

What we need to happen (by team, in order by current rankings), in order for these teams to be guaranteed to be/stay below us.

We need at least 1 of the 2-4 scenarios to happen so we can move into top 4.

To be comfortable, we need all of the 6-9 to occur too, unless more than 1 of the 2-4 do, in which case we'd move up 2 and able to handle being hopped from below by one of the 6-9 teams.
  • (2) Ohio State
    • Lose to Michigan by 14
    • They will drop below us, for the same reason they were below us in Week 1 CFP rankings
  • (3) Michigan
    • Lose by any amount to Ohio State
    • Beat Ohio State and lose conference championship to weak BIG West team.
    • Both scenarios will drop them below us
  • (4) TCU
    • Lose any 1 game
  • (6) Oregon
    • Lose any 1 game
  • (7) LSU
    • Lose SECC
  • (8) USC
    • Lose any 1 game
  • (9) Clemson and below:
    • No chance.

Best case scenario is TCU losing this week, Oregon losing at any point, LSU winning all of their remaining games and losing in ATL, Georgia winning out, Michigan getting dominated by Ohio State.

That is stupid...49-3 is not just one sided...it is complete obliteration. Anybody with a brain can watch our game and see that if we had just hit on 2-3 opportunities that actually happened in the game (they are not figments of anyone's Homer imagination..they actually freaking happened) then our game would have been extremely competitive.

Those two losses are absolutely nothing alike, and to say so is either just pure lying 🦬💩 to set up an excuse, or a clear sign of the committees stupidity.

I don't believe for a second that they are stupid people...so..🤷‍♂️

They contradict themselves and change their methodology literally on a weekly basis. I understand why you (and most of our fans) are bothered by this, because liars and manipulators make my blood boil as well, but I wouldn't worry about it.

In the end, they care about ratings. The UT v Georgia rematch will draw more eyeballs. End of story.

The same way that our fans are convinced that ESPN and the CFB powers that be are going to screw us over because they did it with Peyton...

TCU fans feel the EXACT same way because of what happened to them in the CFP in 2014...

They were number three, won their game that week by FIFTY TWO POINTS, and the final rankings only days later moved them to NUMBER SIX.

Think about how those fans feel. They know that all of this is for show until the final reveal.

OSU losing at home to Michigan would put them below us, regardless of the score IMO.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. OSU has the Bama effect where the media assumes they are good regardless of whether they win. Even with a loss, they would be viewed as better than TN and I could see them finishing ahead of us.

uh, i wouldn't be so sure. OSU has been 1 or 2 in any poll that's existed this year, and i don't think they remove that team from "one of the 4 best" because of 1 loss at the end of the season to the #2 or3 team in the country.

OSU and Bama kinda get that hall pass in that way. it took Bama losing twice before people relented.

i think OSU and Georgia are basically locks. Michigan is a lock if they beat OSU.

for our purposes, i think it's best for Georgia and OSU to win out....it removes the possibility of the decision to make bout a 1 loss OSU, and that's all that should matter. remove the ability for the committee to make that decision. i feel the same way about LSU and the SEC title. that an argument can be made for LSU over TN despite TN beating LSU is enough for me to say "go dawgs" :)

chalk for 1 and 2. TCU lose. and it won't be bad if UCLA, USCw, and Oregon pick up a loss a long the way for insurance purposes.

we have a very good chance to make it.....i'm not overly concerned because there's so much football left to play.....

Oh, sh**.

Their resume looks pretty similar to ours...ready to be let down.

i'm getting caught up on some of the cfb shows since saturday....Josh Pate is still one of the best out there right now. listening to him talk about the UGATN game, i think his takes were accurate on both sides. i especially liked his take on the Ainge Tweet about Sanford stadium lol. and i really enjoyed his take on Bama after the LSU game.....and the sate of that program. Smiled all the way thru that.....

Maybe for that year, but...

The committee wants the traditional powers with the monstrous fanbases in there.

If I were a TCU fan, I'd be Battered Frog Syndrome about everyone in CFB media saying "College Football is better when Tennessee is good" for the last 20 years.

I'd much rather play a 2 vs 3 matchup against OSU than a 1 vs 4 against UGA. If we have to play that bunch again, I'd prefer it be for the whole enchilada.
no question about that. I just don't want to play OSU at all.
