Just listened to Golesh's post-UGA Q&A and it really sounded like he believes that our issues were pretty much pre-snap penalties and execution. He complimented their players, of course, but I got the distinct feeling that he didn't think we were out talented by UGA but that we were out played, especially in terms of not being disciplined enough prior to the snap. (Even when I was watching it live, I knew x drive was going nowhere after a false start bc we have struggled all year regardless of the opponent whenever there's a false start on the drive. I think our offense is either hyper sensitive to plays building upon one another or maybe our players are. Regardless those types of penalties stalling drives completely has been such an issue all season that whenever they happen we might as well hand the ball over because the possession rarely goes anywhere after one).

At any rate after listening to him, there's no question in my mind that the staff firmly believes we can beat UGA if we execute AND that UGA really didn't do anything schematically that cracked the code of our offense and stopped it -- they simply played very good football while we failed to execute on our own end. I came away feeling like he believes that if we erase those penalties and keep doing what we've been doing that our offense will absolutely work fine against UGA.

Obviously, I want us to make the playoffs and get our rematch but until I listened to Golesh my thinking was that just making the playoffs is a win for the program (don't worry about the outcome becacuse there's still a big talent disparity between our roster and theirs). After listening to him, I believe we can win that rematch. At least as far as the offense is concerned, our coaches don't think talent is an issue (they would never say that outright even if they thought it was but it's clear that Golesh doesn't even think it's an issue at all).
So you're telling me he didn't just walk up to the podium and go, "LOOK BRO, BRO...THEY HAVE 5 STAHS...ALL OVER THE FREAKIN FIELD! THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE" like Beamer did

UGA is talented on defense. They have a heady, experienced QB with a very underrated Oline. That is it. But so do we. Georgia is well coached, but so are we.

As many have said we gave up on run too soon. And missed the plays we HAD to make. HH missed a wide open recriver on way to TD.

Our Oline played not well. Receivers needed to get open. HH needed to play better. That's it. UGA beat us. End of story.

Didn't even try. SMDH.

I do musculoskeletal and neuromuscular medicine.
Not primary care.

Biggest mistake anyone can make is giving halfass advice outside of their primary knowledge base.

If we were in the same town, then I would happily see her, listen to her lungs, get labs, Chest X-Ray and treat her.

Trying to do that over the internet would be negligent and show medically poor judgement.

I know that you are making a joke, but I take my responsibility for proper care very seriously. 😎

I do not believe that the loser of the OSU/Mich. game is eliminated. Especially if it is a close game. Expect the losing team's narrative to begin unless it is a blowout. It is more likely if OSU loses that the narrative to let them in will begin.

As long as Tennessee has a spot in the playoffs, thrn I don’t care what other teams are there.

Personally it would be great to have
uga- osu and Tennessee-michigan as the first round playoff games. I would enjoy osu-uga beating each other up too.

Then Tennessee vs whoever wins for the NC game.
Beating michigan would be fun…

13-1 🤠

I thought the same thing. Hope there weren't any kids in there. I assume no one was injured badly, probably whiplash.

I can't believe someone would spend the massive amount it would take to build that car and then not fix any issues as soon as they come up. . . especially a throttle sticking/braking issue on a vehicle with 1,300HP! Apparently the guy built the car over a couple decades.

I’ve had my brakes’ slave linkage go out. I was coming up on a red light and the brake pedal went to the floor with no resistance.
I swerved into the opposite lane, ran through the red light avoiding any collisions and then coasted to a stop safely. No collisions occurred.
Another time, I also had my gas pedal stick, also coming up on a red light. Took my car out of gear and turned the motor off. Braking the whole time.

I was 17 when brakes failed and 18 when gas pedal stuck. My only panic was that I was going to hurt someone if I didn’t act quickly.

That guy panicked and didn’t even try to avoid the crash. He shouldn’t have been driving a vehicle that he couldn’t control. 😳

He could have downshifted and really slowed down. Emergency/parking brake wasn’t attempted either. Dude just failed to react.

The crowd noise put the OL on it's heels...which was a huge advantage for a very aggressive-extremely talented defense.

Part of the growing process...these boys were not supposed to be in huge games on the road late in the season against one of the 3 most talented teams (by far) in CFB.

Looking back on that, how were these guys supposed to be prepared for something like that? We have not been in a game like that for 15 years...I know Death Valley should have been tough, but it wasn't, and it wasn't from the jump...heck it sounded like 30% of the crowd were Vols.

It’s exactly how bama looked in Knoxville. They were shook and it happened to us this time. Doesn’t make it easier to deal with, but it’s almost identical.
The difference is that in the 2nd half, bama got away with a ton of penalties not being called thst allowed them back in the game. uga never got the called on numerous occasions. That alone would have made it closer an a more level playing field.

I’m hoping that the Tennessee administration sends Kirby’s video bragging about his players continually and purposefully holding and pass interference at coaches direction along with video evidence to support it to the SEC, ncaa and especially the playoff committee. It needs to be very publicly stated that it cannot be allowed to happen in any other games that uga plays…

May not make a difference, but the smug SOB bragging about it should have consequences. JMPOO

Just my pissed off opinion. 🤬

Best RB we have. Also needs to learn to hold onto the ball. I wonder if they still have RBs with fumble issues carry a football around campus all week and have people try to knock it out.

I understand not wanting to actively suck up to recruits’ (or players’) parents on here, etc., but can we all agree to just not actively engage in antagonistic confrontations with them? Like most internet arguments, even if you’re correct and they are very clearly in the wrong, there is simply nothing to be gained. There’s just no point.

Yeah, but when I get to grammar police someone I am arguing with, it is glorious.

I posted it after the game. Please remember that UGA lost to Bama in the SECCG in Atlanta by 17, giving up 41 points, before winning the natty last year over Bama at the neutral site.

We are likely to have the same type path open to us. The staff has to get our strength playing at a high level again, just like UGA had to with their D. We lost the first game to them because our O was poor. Our D could and should have played much better, but it was enough to win the game.

As high scoring as it has been, our O has not played its best game yet. All of you know it, you have seen the mental errors or lack of execution as well as the wut? play calls at times. These occurred more in the UK game or we would have scored over 60 points. Our scheme and overall execution were enough to win that easily because the D stepped up. But against UGA, it has to be executing at a higher level. We laid an egg in a hostile environment and with the second half rain. It happens.

So, what I want to see is the O tighten up its execution and HH to spread the ball to all of the receivers instead of asking Cedric to make the big play. Bru has been terribly underutilized this season as an example. Jalin is always open, get it to him at the right time. Throw the ball away if receivers are covered and the QB running lane is not there. Keep working on the secondary to make them more cohesive. Keep working for the pocket push and to get off blocks by the D-line. Sit Mitchell and play Beasley most of the snaps at LB. Mitchell playing over him is criminal.

The results for the rest of this great season for Vols everywhere rests on that.

Then we will be ready to whip that Georgia azz when we get that shot at them.

You don't fool me, Rece Davis.
At the end of an ESPN segment where they were discussing LSU's path to the playoff, Rece sat quietly as the other panelists were saying the early loss to Florida State won't hurt them much and that a SEC champion had a chance in. Missed extra point blah, blah. This is why teams shouldn't schedule hard OOC opponents so they don;t get penalized, blah, blah. Before it went to commercial, Rece just says, "LSU was hammered at home by 4 touchdowns to Tennessee, there is no way the committee looks past that and puts them ahead." No one else said anything and they cut to commercial.

I started taking shots of Jack Daniels everytime Tennessee scored in the 2nd half to help the team. Got pretty dog gone drunk!
i was a jr or sr in high school and at work. my parents "taped" the game and i watched it later. listened to it on the radio live, via John Ward and Vol Network.
