Our house-hunting continues because what we've found everywhere is just too expensive.

These are areas we're now considering because we've seen possible purchases there.

Morristown
Jefferson City
Erwin
Greeneville
Strawberry Plains
Mascot

If any of you have any insight on the any of these areas, i'd greatly appreciate hearing it.

Morristown and Jefferson City are better areas if you want to do more city things - shopping, going out to eat, watching movies etc. without having to make a big trip of it.

The others are pretty rural. It's been forever since I've been through Greeneville though so it might've gotten a little bigger. But if you are youngish and have a family I'd suggest those two over the others because you can still do country things but you can do them without having to drive 45 mins or an 1hr plus just to go to a mall or watch a movie.

That said, just keep doing your research. Don't rush a big move. But tbh, I'd lean towards Morristown on that list because it's in proximity to everything. Knoxville is close and so is PF/Gatlinburg. And it has the advantage of not being so rural that it's a big deal to go to the store.

A lot of buzz ramping up for Kedon Slovis @ Pitt.

~Eric Mac Lain

Seems about right. Pitt, mired in a multidecade rut of mediocrity, miraculously fields two Heisman-caliber quarterbacks in back-to-back years, coinciding with their first games played against Tennessee since the Reagan administration.

I see all the comments about the housing market and such... anyone with knowledge/ideas regarding the Murfreesboro area, is now the time to buy as the market is cooling, or do you believe that this is just the beginning of the drop? Looking to buy our first home and haven't done the whole process before. Any advice is highly appreciated.

I hope LSU embarrasses FSU. I'm not big on cheering for another SEC team, but FSU having a bad season could help us flip Faulk, Simmons, and/or Gadson.

I agree but let's hope they don't look too good... remember we gotta play them down in Baton Rouge...

If you have cash, wait. The rates will go up even more with the latest bill. We will see how this student loan thing survives court but that would also make the rates rise.

We do some work in the real estate sector in Rutherford County. IMO it is still cooling down and has further to drop. But the demand is still so heavy that the bottom will never completely fall out. Depends on your circumstances. I would say in 6m or a year you will get a better deal that right now. But I don't have any confidence about HOW MUCH better.
