For those that pay better attention than me, what has happened to Pitt this year? Mediocre 6-4 with a chance to lose last two. Was Slovis overrated or did he get hurt? Their defense was pretty good and stud RB. Usually a recipe for success, are they Yankee Kentucky?

Their OC who modernized their offense left for Nebraska. Narduzzi went back to his 1980's offense.

I think USC has the best chance of sneaking into the top 4 that's currently behind us.

They'll get UCLA, Notre Dame, and then Oregon or Utah (depending on who wins their head to head) and all 3 of those opponents are currently top 20 in the CFP rankings.

Lots of momentum can be created with 3 straight top 20 wins, I don't like that and hope they lose one of them. Cause I'm not sure TCU will drop another one at this point...thought Texas was the best shot at beating them and then the Longhorns just choked.

I think the committee would like to keep it clean and simple. It’s the media that’s manufacturing drama. The committee is staying the course, leading with the undefeateds, which causes the media to stir up controversy by pushing long-shot what-ifs. They have to have something to talk about and some reason to create reveal shows that reveal little that's new.

IMO, the committee has a preferred endgame and will use soft metrics, if needed, to justify the final ranking. They have indicated that they think UGA, OSU and UT are the three best teams in the country, and I think they’d like a clear path to that #1-#3 scenario. They want a strong matchup for UGA in the semis, and they'd set up a ratings bonanza with a UGA/OSU/UM or UGA/UT championship game.

They've created a bugaboo at #4, but seem to think that will work itself out. UT just needs to dominate two more games and leave no doubt that the Vols are the most exciting, best 1-loss team in the country. A loss is inevitable when the #1 and #2 teams in the top conference are in the same division. The SEC has already played its de facto SECCG. It's very unfortunate UT didn't have a better showing.

Gentlemen, my lurking on the USCe forum has paid off.

I just bought two tickets from a guy for $75 each, had to pose as a Carolina fan, but would you believe it… these tickets are on the 50 yard line, 10 rows back from the USCe bench. Lmfao I pray it’s an Orange invasion right behind their players.
Well done

They're not playing Beamer ball...

in lose to GA Tech gave up 17 in the 4th quarter final score: 26-21
in lose to Louisville gave up 17 in the 4th quarter final score: 24-10
in lose to North Carolina gave up 21 in the 4th quarter final score: 42-24

Mix of Slovis being not as good as they thought he's 59.2% for 1945 passing yards and 6 TDs with 6 INTs, but it seems like they don't have the same level of depth on defense as last season and with the offense being unable to close out games (scoring or time of possession) they have faded late in every loss of this season.

Congrats! We'll watch for you on TV.

That's awesome. Enjoy the game and be rowdy for all of us.

IDK if it's been mentioned, but the latest mock draft on CBSSports has Jalin Hyatt to the Titans (R1, pick 20).

2023 NFL Mock Draft: Bryce Young QB1 in an uneven class, Steelers land Will Anderson Jr.

Fun to think about but I knew this mock draft was bogus when I saw they had Levis going #6 instead of #1 overall.

A real draft shows Levis #1 and then the next five spots empty in deference to Levis - so that the draft board reflects the preeminence of Levis above all of football (and all of life, really).

It's very unfortunate that it wasn't on a neutral field....they would probably have still won, but it would have been a game.

I pay attention…. Just don’t care what the media says…. Positive or negative about us…. There is plenty of positive out there about us by the way….. it’s a great day to be a Vol!
No drama on this end…. Just having fun with @SugarCC bc he called me out when someone said something negative about Tennessee…. I really don’t think it’s a big deal what the media says one way or the other…. Just dominate these last two and we will be in.
You don't care what the media says, good or bad, and that's cool...I have no problem with that, whatsoever.

What I do have an issue with, is whenever you DO seem to care about those of us who do pay attention call them out for their OBVIOUS bias and slant and slander of us...those of us who realize the amount of influence they possess. You don't care what THEY say; but, you do care what WE say about them, running to their defense whenever those of us take issue with them spearheading the stealing of a Heisman, say...or, spread that one of our boys failed a drug test for steroids...or, say that one of our boys is "a ME guy". And, I could go on. See, I don't like that they do that, because I DO care about Peyton Manning, I DO care about Evan Russell, I DO care about Hendon Hooker; and, I don't like a leviathan, that wields so much power, using their MASSIVE platform to talk about them, spread lies about them, influence others about them. Or, about you...I don't like them calling you, or any of the rest of us "toxic", or "trailer park", or "trash". Yet, whenever they say these things about us, like...one week we have to win with style points, then the very next week we've won with too many...whenever some of us don't like that, you, who don't care what THEY say, does care whenever we call them out for it, because you always have something to say about that. Some of us have been paying attention to it for over 30 years, because it's played a massive role in burying us.

But, hey, that's just me. I am now done with this conversation.

Also, I've never once said that they will screw us out of the playoff, not once; but, if you have been paying attention...well, I'll just leave it at that...

Sh!t, I cant...
All I'll say is, "46 point losses are no different than 14 point losses"..."style points...classless for running it up"...so on and so forth...

Their SOS will still be mid-70s even if they win all 3.

While I agree these issues wouldn't be a problem today. Heupel is a genuine guy, Hurd probably wouldn't have had the issues to begin with. Hurd was a helluva player. Lyle was a snake. I believe it is more likely the situation is totally different and Hurd more likely to finish his career here. Just my opinion

Agree-- it's on Butch. He was the HC; Hurd was a teenager. The situation should have been handled differently and never allowed to play out like it did. UT is in a better place now, with stronger leadership top-down.

This clown

How is Tennessee '22 different from Georgia '21? Georgia was #1 headed into the SEC Championship, was annihilated on a neutral field by #3 Alabama, and still got in the playoffs. In fact, '22 Tennessee's resume is better than '21 Georgia at this point - by a long-shot. People don't want to admit it, but the scoreboard shows Tennessee only lost by 14 on the road at Georgia and held Georgia substantially below their season average in points. Those are facts - plain and simple.
