I wouldn’t call it an OC search. I think this has a strong possibility of being a TE hire.

As I said earlier….does Heup have a tie? I don’t think Jo Jon from Oklahoma is a thing as Heup didn’t take him to UCF.

I do wonder if the Vols would talk to Jeff Farris at UCLA to see and get a feel about him

So you would rather have a committee determine that Alabama had “better losses” so they get a bye week instead of each conference setting the bye games on the field…. I prefer the conference champs getting the bye game.

That’s a stretch. Just because one committee is incompetent doesn’t mean a 8-4 team deserves a bye. Purdue would not deserve a bye if they had won. It would have been their only top 25 CFP ranking win. They played one other ranked team. UT played 4. UNC would be the same as Purdue.

That may end up being the most boring, low scoring bowl game of all time.

It’s fine, but conference winners aren’t automatically granted the top 32 seeds. By that policy, then the winner of the SWAC would be given a top seed.
But what was said was, winning a crappy conference shouldn't even get you in.

The first thing they should do is do away with the traditional rivalries after we do away with the divisions. They were great for many years no doubt but the fairness of competition will have to be taken into account. Everybody wants us to play Bama but their biggie is Auburn, what about Vandy, we are their biggest rival or Ky. Rotate a home and away with EVERY team. We have Texas and Oklahoma coming in so is that going to be their game every year ? SC's biggest rival isn't even in our Conference. It's just time to play for the big prize and do away with bragging rights.

Nobody is claiming the sunbelt champion should get a bye…it would be from the top 4 P5 conference champions…. It would be extremely rare that a LSU or Purdue would be able to win their conference… Utah was the best team in the PAC 12.

I’m perfectly fine with conference winners getting an automatic spot in the CFP, but giving the conference champion an automatic bye is ridiculous. There’s nothing you can tell me that will change my mind on that.

Not trying to change your mind, but a decent rationale is that they played and won one more game than others. That ought to be worth consideration. Allowing a higher ranked Bama to sit at home while they played doesn't really make sense either.
