Math was wrong, but your point still stands. There’s also 32 AQs in CBB tourney, which cuts the field for at large teams in half. The numbers are a lot more comparable once you consider this (yes I know there will likely be 4-5 AQs in football too).

The difference is that in Basketball East Bumb***k State Technical University can take out a big dog kind of regularly...it is the very nature of basketball lends otself to huge upsets...but that doesn't transfer to football.

Football is a completely different animal and most people don't understand that.

It’s been the icing on a season that none of us thought could happen at the first of the season. I hope and don’t think we will ever see Josh Heupel doing that.

Well, pretty much anyone can play their way into it if they can win their conference tournament. The CFP pool is much, much smaller.

1-11 to 5-7 is a huge improvement and most people would think that's a great step in the right direction.

I'm not afraid of them. I want to succeed...having to be one of the only 2 teams that has to play the 2 most talented rosters in all of CFB every f'n year is stupid..it wins you nothing, just trying to win the SEC is hard enough without making it extra hard...and..

I would agree with you if it stayed at 4 teams for the playoffs instead of going to the top 12…. It would be the most Tennessee thing ever if we stop playing Bama just as we get a great administration and coaching staff just as Alabama starts their decline… Saban will retire shortly and it will be very difficult for them to stay at this level. I don’t want to miss the next “Mike Shula” type of years.

I think Deion should’ve really been hired at Georgia Tech. His ties in Atlanta from his pro career, his ability to relate to southern kids, especially the black demographic, and his personality in general all translate very well in this region of the country.


But out west? I’m not so sure.

He would have absolutely killed it there. GT must have not been willing to give him some things he wanted.

I love this guy. Evidently he’s been doing the broadcasts already this year. My Mexican-born engineer at work said unlike most broadcasters, this guy makes American football sound exciting. Just more confirmation that modern American broadcasting sucks.
