Milton is the starting QB, so I'm not going to do anything but hope for him to be successful.

He's another high character guy too that was willing to stay here as a backup rather than hop in the portal again. He won't throw near 70% completion like Hooker did though, just isn't going to happen. Hooker has never been inaccurate it wasn't something Heupel "fixed" or anything.

Hendo had at least 1 passing attempt in 41 games in his career, and in that time he failed to hit at 60% only 10 times. 31 games throwing at 60% or better with a career total of 12 INTs.

Dobbs threw in 37 games and had 18 games where he failed to reach 60%
Bray threw in 28 games and had 16 games where he failed to reach 60%

I'm hoping Milton is able to be a more accurate Tyler Bray for us. If he can do that without generating a ton more turnovers then we'll be winning a lot of games.
I am all in on Milton

I want Milton to hit 60% with increased deep passes…. Don’t think ints will be a huge issue bc it never has been in a Heup offense…. You don’t have to fit the ball into tight coverages very often if at all.

What Vandy game are you referencing where Milton faced any pressure? Wasn't this year, that's for sure.

Clearly, he felt the pressure mentally when he was the starter again. It was the only game he played in this year where the outcome wasn't already decided. His issues are all mental, and when he is the starter with the pressure on him, he just gets in his own head and yeets the ball around without any touch or accuracy. That's been his issue even when he was at Michigan, it was his issue last year, and it was his issue against Vandy. The run game bailed him out in a big way, but he did not look good at all.

Idk how to feel about it. He certainly wasn’t perfect by any stretch but Titans have been consistent enough to be “good” and that usually doesn’t happen in the NFL unless you have a top notch Quarterback. On the other hand you could look and say Vrabel has been the key to winning and over producing with what he’s had to work with
Wonder if he’ll pull a Mike Holmgren and overextend himself…or replicate his idol Belichick? 🤔

Milton could make 20 amazing throws, but once he misses one, no matter what actually happened on the play, the game thread will be full of exasperated Vol fans talking about how he always overthrows.
I’m all in on Milton. I think he is destined to become second in the line of great QBs under Heupel.
But it doesn’t matter, some people dig in on their lazy takes.
I don’t think it’s lazy takes to say Milton is inconsistent. He lost his job due to being inconsistent. He still struggles with touch and tries gunning passes when a simple pass would suffice. But he did look improved in mop up duty this year and I’m not going to judge him on the Vandy game in those conditions. But we haven’t really seen him play as a full time starter against first team defenses yet. Clemson will be a good gauge. I hope he balls out. We shall see.

There is no blue checkmark for that account

There is when you're on twitter's site but apparently not when it's embedded. That's why the post blew up a little bit with so many RT/likes. I noticed people trolling on Sunday when I was looking for Mixon injury news for FF. They give you a blue check now when you pay for twitter and unless you actually click their profile to see how many followers they have most of it looks legit on the surface.

That's great. Now show his deep passes in the ONE game he played this year where the pressure was actually on him to win. Go watch the Vandy game.

I responded to this post:

Our relievers will be running open all day, but can Milton hit the deep pass? I expect to see a lot of open deep passes for nothing. As long as we can hit 3 or 4, I assume we have a chance to win.

You wondered if he can hit the deep pass. I posted video of him hitting the deep pass repeatedly. Now, having answered your question, you want to move the goalposts. I'm getting the impression you don't actually want to discuss the topic you brought up, and instead just posted the above looking for folks to bemoan our future if he's at QB?

Not interested in that. I'll leave you to it.

Yeah. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was pouring rain the entire time. Also, even the threat of the deep pass forced the safeties to play back off the LOS which opened up the run game. We will see when we get to the Orange Bowl in a few weeks, but I think you will see a very different chemistry between Bazooka Joe and the WR corps. You can feel free to continue to complain until then.

Jon Robinson has been the GM since 2016

His only "hits" in the draft were:
2016: Derrick Henry & Kevin Byard
2017: Jayon Brown? none of the guys are still Titans, and really haven't had great careers. Adoree' Jackson, Corey Davis, and Jonnu Smith were solid for the Titans briefly though.
2018: Evans, Landry, Cruikshank all good players, but Landry is the only one still with Titans and on IR
2019: Simmons, Davis, Hooker, and Long (Brown isn't with the Titans anymore)
2020: No impact guys all backup/depth guys at this point
2021: TBD so far no starters
2022: McCreary & Petit-Frere, rest are TBD

With the amount of turnover it just looks bad. The roster seems to be mostly free agents lots of turnover with his draft picks or just straight up misses.

The real problem though has been in the 1st round and how many misses he's made there.

Jack Conklin - good, but was a Titan just 4 seasons (Kevin Dodd was a 2nd rounder, but a huge miss there)
Corey Davis & Adoree' Jackson - solid, neither player still with Titans
Rashaan Evans - really good, but again moved after 4 seasons here
Jeffery Simmons - the best 1st rounder to date
Isaiah Wilson - BUST
Caleb Farley - hurt when drafted, played 3 games as a rookie, has played 9 games this season but isn't starting
Treylon Burks - missed a few games and hasn't shown much yet (meanwhile AJ Brown is balling in Philly)

If your plan is to build off the draft and rookie contracts then you have to hit more and he hasn't....seems like he drafts badly, then moves on from them rather than paying the 2nd contract bump (instead chases big names in free agency and overpays them instead...cause that makes sense).

So basically Henry, Byard, Simmons have been about it.

Oh Lawd............Here comes the "ESPN hates UT."

Hard Rock Stadium will be extremely orange for this one, as Tennessee makes its first New Year's Six bowl appearance in the CFP era. Both teams have had quarterback changes, one because of injury (Tennessee's Joe Milton replacing Hendon Hooker) and the other because of performance (Clemson's Cade Klubnik replacing D.J. Uiagalelei). Clemson doesn't have opt-outs for bowls, and the Tigers should benefit from having Myles Murphy, Bryan Bresee and others against a Vols offense that, even without Hooker, packs a punch. The Tigers also can start to build behind dynamic young quarterback Klubnik.
Prediction: Clemson 42, Tennessee 31

AJ Brown making a good defense look pathetic was the last straw. The man has mostly struggled with his early-round picks. I liked him but he made his bed.
