I know a couple sports writers and I’ve asked them recently what they thought about the VOLS this year and it seems like it’s lining up with what’s happening as far as the Polls, and other awards.

Seems as tho they think TN runs a gimmick offense and that defenses next year will shut down TN and we will go back to being a 6-7 win team. Was told they think CH offense won’t last and that teams will go back and watch the Ga and SC games and see how to play press coverage on D.

So there ya go. Just food for thought on what a couple of National guys think.

Georgia and South Carolina was an issue because the WRs getting the most game time did not do well when being held. Once we have receivers that can get off and fight through holds. Huepel’s offense won’t be able to be stopped.

Thanks for sharing. Think the national guys are grasping at straws. Heupel has done thus for 5 years as an HC now and no one is any closer to stopping it.

I'm not saying you're right or wrong but I do remember being told by a UCF that one defenses adjust to his offense it bogs down now or less and the fans got frustrated with him.

Maybe if other teams have Georgia's talent on defense. Offense wasn't the problem against South Carolina.

Right? Lol literally has the worst defensive play of the entire year and the Offense still had us in the game until Hendon tore his ACL and fumbled on the like 10.

Here is my counter to that. The 2 main games that Hooker was not at his best were those two games. We had receivers open in both games that we missed. Had we hit on some of those then the game is vastly different. Likewise, if we improve defensively then that allows for some of those mistakes. A good QB will allow this offense to work. A mediocre one will not.

TLDR version.....Good defense and QB play we are 10-2 at worst again next year.

You gotta have the personnel to do that and so far outside of UGA there aren’t many in the country that have the guns. It’ sounds like jealousy or something I gotta be honest. We haven’t even seen the whole offense.

College needs to go to the Pass Interference rule the Pros use. Ball is placed at the spot of the foul. That will change a lot of what Georgia did.

I can understand why they would think that, but it is not like CH's offense is brand new this year. He has been running it at every stop for years now and nobody figured out how to stop it. UGA was the only team with enough Dudes on defense to stop us. Even SCar didn't shut us down. We just forgot to play defense at all and they out boat raced us.

That is also true lol, I mean when you have a head coach go on live TV and state yeah I told them to hold every play and if they got beat to commit pass interference then yeah you are right

We scored 38 points on South Carolina, despite losing Hooker to injury. If teams shut us down so much that we can only score 35 - 40 points instead of 45 - 50 points, I can live with that.

Our offense evolves as well, and we have the same tape of those games that the other teams do. Over time we'll be executing it with more talented players as well. Will be interesting to see how Heupel adjusts!

I'm not saying that you believe what your UCF friend said but UCF fans might need to go check the numbers that say otherwise. Increased offensive performance every single year from year 1. 568 yards per game wasn't the issue at UCF.
