This broadcasting crew annoyed me with the talk that “FSU ‘found him’” (we offered first…Garner gonna Garner), but broke the tidbit that Verse was drawn to the “brand name”. Gotta overcome that national narrative with WINS using current talent before we can expect to be the overwhelming first choice.

I agree, but nil money probably also played a part. In guessing he went to the highest bidder as much as he went to the biggest brand name.

The national perception is that we have a lot of one score games on our schedule along with at least two sure losses. I think nationally, until we prove otherwise, all of these games are viewed as one score: Pitt, Florida, SC, Kentucky, LSU. The perception is we likely lose at least two of these, maybe more. I think they see us with only five "sure" wins max and some of them likely think Missouri will be close, too. I disagree with this perception and we start proving it this Saturday.

Its only game 1 of the Kelly era. He's a proven coach. My guess is they will get better as the year goes on.

They dont look great tho. I could see the fanbase turning on him quickly if it doesnt get better fast. Their fans may not be able to stomach a beatdown against us in their stadium lol.

People have forgotten that these things take time. BK is a good coach...IF..they give him time, then he will put good solid teams on the field eventually.

The question is...will LSUs crazy corndogger fanbase have the patience needed?

Those are biased opinions, not honest projections. The obvious locations for us are always one of the Florida bowls or Nashville. Period. CFB moves at the speed of money, and though we travel as well as anyone, there’s no draw to place us there. It‘s amazing to me that the people paid to talk about these things know the least about them.

Furthermore, if we go 9-3/10-2, we will have an argument for a NY6 bowl. McMurphy, like Rovell and others, should be selling pretzels and hot dog-straw beers at the snack bar.

I think it is fine to promote it. I also think it is more than fine to decline to donate. Everyone has their own situation and I personally think anyone who chooses not donate, even if they can afford it, still gets to be just as big a fan as those who choose to do so.

Everytime I come in this thread and see your name, you've got post after post after post about NIL. You post more about it then the guy who actually works for them does.

Yeah no sh** I post about NIL.

We should all post about NIL.

We have had to sit around and watch our boosters and admin run this program into the ground. Spinning the tires now for almost two decades. We finally have an opportunity as fans to fix this program. I see the vision, I see the path forward, I know this program and how much the fans have supported the program through thick and thin.

NIL is the answer that we have been looking for. We don't have to wait for a very small, select group of people to decide how they want to fix the program.

The fans can (finally) bring us out of the dark ages, and launch the program back into the elite immediately. We are one of the only programs with the die hard fanbase to enable this rise.

I post about it because I believe it.

My goal is to improve the program. I've never set out to make anyone feel like less of a fan or like they were any less of a person, earner, provider, whatever else. If I have unintentionally made anyone feel bad because of this, then I truly do apologize to them.

I also post a lot in this thread. I almost post exclusively in this thread after years on this board. I'd say less than 10% of my posts are about NIL. Sometimes I get that scent and get after it on Spyre/NIL because I'm passionate about Tennessee, so I'm passionate about them.

If you don't like what I say then just ignore me. I'll return the favor.

If we don't play the NIL game well, then we better be happy with endless mediocrity, because talent will go where they can make money.


I can't give much either, but I can do something to help the cause I supposedly care about.

I get it....I hate this crap too, but it is what it is, and if NIL is what it takes to level the field more and give our staff enough talent to at least have a punchers chance against programs that stack up 4-5* like cordwood...then I am going to do what I can.
