I got some cash ready to go into the market when it gets close to the bottom.

Tell me when it’s time because I want to do the same. Was going to do so for QQQ but it has bounced back already.

Why not? We just redefined recession.

We'll see. Deep recession, or not. Significant market revaluation, or not.

Generally are you bullish or bearish?

That's a lot for new folks. At least from my experience, 2 is about standard...then it grows to 3 and 4, maybe 5, over some years.

They have 11 company holidays..but only start at ONE week pto lol.

It was my headhunter that suggested 3 weeks. Would be happy to push for 4...but idk if that's pushing it too much...4x their standard. Guess we'll see.

But I'll also be pushing for more WFH and progressive scheduling (4 tens or 4 9s + 1/2 day Friday). They're still pretty old school...in the office all 5 days, 8x5 scheduling. I've done too much remote work and 4 10s to go back I think lol

Your experience is a driver for hiring position and salary so why not vacation too? My wife is a director and deals with this a lot. If they’re hiring someone with 10 years experience in the field then they understand that person will likely ask for equivalent paid time off (PTO). It’s not like you’re demanding the PTO but you can say “I’m getting 4 weeks at my current position and would like the equivalent here.”

If you’re fresh out of college (I know you aren’t) and this is your true entry level hire then you probably have to take the 2 weeks PTO and just eat it until you have experience. Otherwise you should be in a position to at least ask for more.

I don’t know if it’s still the same but about a decade ago the standard was:

Entry level: 2 weeks
3-5 years on the job: 3 weeks
10-15 years: 4 weeks

Most places didn’t go to 5 weeks because we’re weird in America. Compare that with our European colleagues who typically disappear for the entire month of August. Right now many of them are out of the office and their message is “Not checking email, your message will not be forwarded.” Imagine trying to do that in America. We aren’t quite there as a culture.

Pretty dang large. I'm in the finance section of an engineering center plant (capital tooling), international company. I'm already there, I'm simply on contract while deciding to go permanent if I liked it...which I feel gives me plenty of leverage. They were sort of drowning before I came on.

I'm shooting for 15% salary bump and 3 weeks off. Is it best to ask higher (like 20-25%) and then there's room to settle down to 15%? Or is 20-25% a little much?

Thanks for any tips.

OK, I understand your situation now.

I would expect your department head/HR department would base your starting salary on your experience & performance compared to what their other employees are making currently. If your performance is better than their employees, your salary should be higher than theirs for a comparable age/years of experience. Of course, I don't know what % increase that would equate to. Good luck!

I truly mean this, she is gross. Nothing in that scenario is desirable.

Financial success & Earthly 'wins' are of this World.
I saw a dude that had to be close to my age (54) at the rodeo last night with a beautiful young woman that couldn't have been more than 20-22...but at least he looked like he took care of himself and was dressed nice unlike that old blob.

I was sitting there thinking that just looks like too much hard work to me.

"Absolutely horrible" QBs don't see the field and throw a TD in the NFL...😑

"Absolutely horrible" QBs are...
Nick Stephens
Justin Worley (sorry Worleybird)
AJ Suggs
Rick Clausen

Even Andy Kelly threw more INTs in his career than TDs and NOT ONCE threw more TDs than INTs in a season. Had a career 129 qbr and not once surpassed 132...while JG had 2 seasons in the mid 140s. But AK had elite defenses and rushing games...so people will see him as being better. It's crazy. Meanwhile, JG was matched with AWFUL OLs, defenses, and mediocre RBs...and awful coaches. He did what he could and tried, often shellacked and sacrificing his body.

And missed WIDE OPEN recievers....ALL the time. This is a stupid argument.

Gaurantano was awful...period.

Out of all of that, I knew someone would nitpick one sentence lol. Preseason vs exhibition, whatever. Let's just say no "absolutely horrible" football players even sniff the NFL. That's ridiculous. The greatest players on earth are out there.. to even get there isn't for absolutely horrible folks. Nor do they post 145 qbrs in the freakin SEC.
He was always horrible in game...but a practice Tarzan. If he is playing better now...it is a freaking miracle.

It is exhibition football though, and I have watched a ton of nobodies with big arms and experience from West Timbuktu State Technical college throw in pre-season games over the years.

JG was awful..period.

Did you actually watch the guy play when he was here? 🤔

That stupid QBR he had was a massive joke and everybody here but you knows it...JG literally forever ruined that stat for me.

Lol dude

JG was as much of the awful as anyone I mean do you seriously remember actually watching him play?

Most of his completions were check downs and deep jump balls to Palmer, Callaway and Jennings who START for the Chargers, Saints and 49ers currently. The guy had literally two and a half good games at best. The rest was a total disaster or they played it extremely safe with him and didn't ask him to do anything. The Mizzou game he dominated. Half of the UK game and half of the USCjr game in 2019. That is the only time he played remotely well.

Wow he had some easy play action passes where he didn't have to think against third stringers and completed passes.

You're just trying to be nice.
No...he has deluded himself

JG actually had the skills to be good, and would have decent games, but at the worst possible moment would make the dumbest possible play. He actually played well in the Bama game before the fumble. Once he made a bad play though then the wheels came off.

He was supposedly a great practice QB. I can see him having a good preseason in the NFL and making a team due to that.

Go to a swampgas forum and talk crap about the Gators and your banned without question. Surprised these rival fans get away with it as much as they do. Freak and the mods have more patience than me. I woulda fired them into the center of the sun long ago, 😆.
Yep..nobody else allows this crap on their forums.

Lmao I simply tweeted “post the final score of the Georgia state game” everyday for a month. They then blocked me. I’ll be happy to claim martyrdom if we win a natty soon.
I am sorry but you deserved to be blocked. I get what you are doing but I am sure they are trying to keep a positive, regardless of who the coach is. I will, however, let you have your martyrdom if we do in fact, win a Natty.
