I'll just say if Basketball and Baseball keep competing like they do then Football recruiting will pickup as well.

Players are really a community, and unlike at Kentucky the programs here support each other by attending games and hyping each program up on social media as well.

In about 10-20 years the midstate population is going to give us a much better chance. Assuming those are mostly families and not just retirees.

Yes, IMO, Nashville can be like Atlanta now. But you have to have a generation that grows up in-state even though their parents were transplants and have success on the field.

He’s doing great, thanks for asking! He just had a cardiologist appointment and his blood pressure and EKG were so good that the doctor didn’t think it was necessary to do a echocardiogram on him! This is a photo of him the other day. He’s ready for football haha
Awesome news!! Very happy for you all!!

Hopefully, but with a lot of the families moving to the midstate from somewhere else there’s going to be a bunch that aren’t Vol fans or maybe have an family affiliation from elsewhere. Still will hopefully be a draw to come play for UT near their family though when UT starts winning again.

I certainly hope you’re correct and I think we absolutely have the scheme and talent to take advantage, but I do wonder if it will be enough to overcome whatever mental hurdles plague the program.

I don’t believe in curses or things of that nature and I used to find the idea that we were psyched out by Florida to be ridiculous — why would losing to them in 2005 or 2010 affect 2019 or 2021, but lord do we always seem to crawl into a shell against them.
Yeah sort of. I've come to 2 conclusions - 1) even when we think we are even, they've essentially always had more talent and depth, even when we thought maybe we had caught up. 2015/2016 maybe outliers.

2) We've just had some awful variance. I mean...the 2017 bomb with 0 seconds left was just nuts. Losing 9-10 or whatever it was...while up 9-0 (iirc) going into Q4...stupid. losing in 2015 on a host of absurd 4th downs...downright ludicrous. But the fact that we did win in 2016 proves it can be done and it will happen again.

I don't believe in curses either, but I do believe general talent and depth tend to win out...but you can also simply have bad variance at times too. The opposite can be said of some uk/usc games from the last decade where we squeaked out wins and had some positive variance. Such as DOB not being called for a dirty play vs that USCjr qb or last year we definitely grabbed Levis's facemask on the last drive and it was missed. Win some and ya lose some...we just seem to always be on the bad end vs UF. That will even out eventually. Starting this year!

I hope so. UF still has more talent than us so it could likely swing their way again this year. We need to put the foot on the gas and just score like crazy. Tired of playing tight against them.

Yet a month ago we landed Seldon, Sham, Jalen Smith and Bradley all in the same weekend. I don’t think that’s considered as “a drop off”
This is like scoring in a game. You can score methodically throughout the game, grinding every second. But our team likes to score in bunches, then slow it down, then score in more bunches. Recruiting going the same way. We have huge recruiting pushes and land a bunch at a time, then relax, then make another big push.

Idk if the guys losing their mind about recruiting right now realize this, but we got a huge haul a few weeks ago and what has happened since?

Coaching staff getting back together and getting prepared for the actual season and now fall practice has started. The 22 season is the focus right now, not hard recruiting. We'll pick up some guys during the season and keep communicating with prospects, then we will have another huge push before early signing day. It's predictable.

Gators have gone from the outhouse to the penthouse in recruiting and are kicking our butts now. They have 13 four-stars and are ranked higher than us. Pitiful. We had better bury them in Knoxville this year. That is all that matters. No excuses.

Ok. Thanks for letting us know. They are doing therapy crafts in the courtyard garden. I think they are making macaroni sculptures today. That sounds fun. You should go check it out.

Good for him.

All the best to him.

Between him, E. Gray and T. Evans, we've had quality backs in recent years that each produced memorable moments. Weird how their college careers turned out. Hoping our latest group of backs produces guys that perform just as well (if not better) and actually finish their careers here.
