...any given saturday, especially if the SEC decides to still hold us back and have their attack dog refs intervene.
Florida is not a scrub, they have a lot of high level talent...they can win this game with ref help and their usual luck.
We need to stop being so critical. It's like people can't wait to jump on the staff...that staff is why you think we are better.
1st quarter I see 7-10 for us and 3-7 for the gators. I think Neyland noise and the tempo catches up in the 2nd quarter and we jump out to a 21 point lead. We have been killing the 2nd once Hendon gets warmed up. I'd like to see Pierce and Herring make into into the rotation at DE/OLB too. They were electric when they got in.I really just don't see how UF is going to score enough points to even be remotely competitive. AR is hobbled and can't pass. And his true backup is out. The guy behind him is a Nate Peterman in the Swamp waiting to happen (hell, AR himself may provide that).
UF will get some stops, they'll get a few big plays, and Hendo will overthrow a few receivers, etc., but it's a 60-minute game. I could see it being low-scoring and close in the first half and then we pull away big time in the 3rd quarter.
LETTUCE!!!!UF is a "need to win" game for sure. It's a chance to make a statement and a hurdle that must be jumped to meet program goals for the season. A game doesn't impact anyone's job security, but a W checks a box that needs to be checked.
UT made a commitment to the entire staff, signed them to longer-term contracts and just extended them, as planned. This was structured at the outset to build a stable foundation and culture for the program. That said, UF is the first stepping stone toward beating our rivals and getting to the top of the division. If we want to be #2 in the SECE, we beat UF and UK. We give UGA a game. And we show recruits that we're legitimately on our way. We need this win, and we have the players, coaches, fans and venue to get it.
Rewatching the game again and I feel we have some younger guys who are actually better than the starters.
I know it was against Akron, but some young guys really flashed. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these guys start at some point this year.
How many minutes in before someone start yelling "still the same ol Vols!"The only thing that truly scares me about this game is if Richardson somehow starts throwing accurate passes.
And let's face it...he's going to throw at least one TD against us. How many times are we on the wrong end of a broken streak or a season high for a player? I wouldn't be surprised if he marches their offense down the field like Tom Brady on the opening drive.
