Any word one the FL linebacker, miller I think? Is he supposed to be back this game?
He’s out. So they’re lacking their best player on defense. We’re lacking (most likely) one of our best on offense. Problem for them is they’re inserting a freshman. We have Bru Hyatt Keyton and Merrill

We need Tillman. They don’t have anyone that can guard him.

We need Hyatt. They don’t have anyone that can guard him.

We need McCoy. They don’t have anyone that can guard him.

We need Keyton. They don’t have anyone that can guard him.

We need Squirrel. They don’t have anyone that can guard him.

And on and on. Coaching staff got this.

I really want Tillman to play. But mainly because he deserves to be part of the gator thrashing.

15-0 🤠

Nebraska should have never joined the Big10
I agree, maybe they will be able to recruit a little better with California teams joining the Big 10, but if I was a coach Nebraska would be one of the last jobs I consider.

I think Rhule is a pretty good coach and has built up 2 programs starting for the near bottom. I hope he doesn't end up in the SEC.

A lot of BVS in here. Sheesh…

Yup “the realists” are harshing my mellow.

I have a confidence in theses coaches and players that I have not had this frigging century. A mob of neigh sayers cannot change my attitude. Never have, never will. Funny that they get all their panties wadded if you call them on it.

I am here for this awesome season…just like I have been here for the miserable seasons. Tired of feeling downtrodden. Time to get revved up and get a little payback.

I am scrolling by the realist posts, because I get chastised if I tell them to stop. 😳

Time to call all the optimist VFls to overwhelm the thread!

Cause 15-0 🤠

You would think we don’t have any other good receivers and we are about to play an NFL defense lol.
I mean it’s a blow but they’re probably without their best defender which is a blow to them. Injuries happen. Gotta overcome it and not crawl into a shell with self-pity.

No offense to the kid, but I'd prefer not to find out. I'd rather wait until next spring to see just how much he's improved. He's not a freshman or soph. He's had multiple opportunities with different staffs to win the job yet Hooker still starts. There's a reason for that. Like I said...next year. Til then...

Fair enough…Just remember Manning’s case scenario and how he came about 👀 Joe is no manning but that doesn’t mean he can’t have a moment like him to pull us out of dark!

I really just don't see how UF is going to score enough points to even be remotely competitive. AR is hobbled and can't pass. And his true backup is out. The guy behind him is a Nate Peterman in the Swamp waiting to happen (hell, AR himself may provide that).

UF will get some stops, they'll get a few big plays, and Hendo will overthrow a few receivers, etc., but it's a 60-minute game. I could see it being low-scoring and close in the first half and then we pull away big time in the 3rd quarter.

agreed. but i'd be lying if it wasn't in the back of my head that in the one game that mattered so far....outside of bru, hyatt and ced, only Keyton has gotten any snaps, and i think he got one target in that game?

the good news is we did get two games to get the rest of those guys a bunch of snaps. i think it would be best to have a group out there that keeps Hyatt in the slot. so bru outside in Ced's spot. Keyton goes to the other side, and hyatt in the slot. and you work in Merrill and Squirrel in the rotation. speed, speed, speed.

i also think you get the TE's move involved in the passing game. and by more involved, i mean more than 1-2 target per game...maybe 3-5? especially on early downs. get in some rhythm, and get that tempo going. to me, that's the tell tale of this game, offensively....how efficient are we on 1st and 2nd down?

one thing that could be a giant positive if Ced is out or limited, is it forces targets to go elsewhere, and there are options. i still think RB screen shows up this week too. we do have guys that are capable, they just may not line up in the same spot as Ced............so while i'm not a fan of not having him out there, and would always rather have him out there.......sometimes, it actually works to your benefit to be forced to plan b, c, d, e...Especially when you do have guys that are capable.

and last thing...ced has been such a big part of our passing game....you have key on him, and he's a focal point. if he's not out there............who do you key on if your the defense? it has to change, to some degree, what they have to prepare for, and likely adds more to their workload, from a preparation standpoint.

The fact we already played a solid team and despite an off night on offense rolled up tons of yards and scored 34 has me pretty confident in this team. A healthy Tillman, Small, & Sampson would have me down right arrogant.

I think like Hyatt against Akron this game could become a coming out party for Bru or Keyton. (maybe Walker?) one of them will need to step into Tillman's role if he's not available and Florida won't give them the same sort of respect as they would Tillman. So they need to take advantage of that.

I also still think the Gators don't have anywhere near the front 7 that Pitt had, even if they have more size I feel like they have less experience and speed. So I think the running game will be a big factor for us in this game.

that's how the Pitt game would have/should have played out had we not squandered the 3rd qtr like we did.

so yeah, i agree. i'm not sure the MO for this game is any different than that game. if we play a clean game (cut down/eliminate mistakes), at some point we're going to just out score them. imo, a FG attempt is almost as good as punt for our defense, though if we're able to stop the run, or slow it down, we may actually see more punts than FG's......which would be nice.

and please please please....lettuce get some turnovers and/or special teams points................

top to bottom we're better than florida this year. play like it.

2 things our defense has to do
1. maintain gap integrity: Florida is pretty good at running the ball. Or at least they have been so far, and Richardson is a pretty good runner in his own right

2. Hit Richardson Early, often, and with force. He needs to remember each hit for a couple days afterwards. Gotta be clean hits though, we can’t give them something to galvanize around

Richardson showed in the UK and USF games that when he is rattled and under pressure, he’s a bad decision maker and inaccurate (usually misses high).

Vols 34-UF 23

If they lose this game…. They deserve criticism…. We are the better team.
🦬💩...any given saturday, especially if the SEC decides to still hold us back and have their attack dog refs intervene.

Florida is not a scrub, they have a lot of high level talent...they can win this game with ref help and their usual luck.

We need to stop being so critical. It's like people can't wait to jump on the staff...that staff is why you think we are better.

The only thing that truly scares me about this game is if Richardson somehow starts throwing accurate passes.

And let's face it...he's going to throw at least one TD against us. How many times are we on the wrong end of a broken streak or a season high for a player? I wouldn't be surprised if he marches their offense down the field like Tom Brady on the opening drive.

Its a rivalry game. Gonna be much closer than many think.
