He lost his boxing-knowledge cred earlier. Anyone who thinks prime Mike Tyson would get "destroyed" by ANYONE, out themselves. As far as the Frazier/Tyson comparison...some similarities; but, overall, they're nothing alike. Joe is my favorite heavyweight off all time; however, he shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Tyson whenever comes to things like speed, coordination, and pure boxing ability...and, as much strength and power as Joe had, it wasn't Tyson's strength and power.Tyson couldn’t take punishment? sheesh McGill you’re extremely tough on a man who was 5’10 in a heavy weight class fighting against people who were 6 ft and taller with a longer reach than Tyson.that put him at a disadvantage before the fight ever started I just can’t let this comment stand uncontested

Again, whenever I talk about Tyson, I talk about 84,85-88,89 Tyson. EVERYTHING that came after those years, takes him out of any convo. Those years, he should be right at the top of the convo, with Louis and Ali. Louis and Ali combined didn't carry as much ferociousness in them, as Tyson carried in a pinky...disciplined, controlled ferociousness channelled and focused to perfection in those years.
Well, there was that one time where he invoked the never-seen-before strategy of chomping on the other guy's ears in the clinch. That was innovative. Holyfield wasn't a big fan of it though.Tyson was NEVER a phone booth fighter. Thats Frazier, Norton, Marciano. It doesn't make sense for a short armed fighter, but for whatever reason Mike was remarkably unremarkable in the clinch. Almost never punched his way out of a tie up nor wrestled his way out. He either tried to break the dude's arm or waited to be seperated.
Gotta love you Tyson fanboys...I get it, I once bought in to all the hype myself. He lost his boxing-knowledge cred earlier. Another benefit for building such a strong culture. The coaches have been helping portalers find soft landings. Most have solid interest or something in the works before putting in the paperwork. The SA can go directly to compliance without sitting down with the coaches first, but that hasn't been happening. So no one expects a blindside today.
