He’s putrid. Georgetown has to get over just hiring anyone because they’re related to past program success. Ran Thompson III off for WAY less in 2017. They got to have a reboot. With the right coach in there they can and should be pretty dang good. A lot of talent in the DMV that’s avoided GeorgetownFUN FACT
As the head coach of the Georgetown Men's Basketball program
Patrick Ewing has lost TWENTY EIGHT Big East games in a row
0-19 last year and a loss in the opening round of the Big East tourney and 0-8 this year
The real true insider on this board is @Jimmy Football
He was great.
the rise of football and basketball has decimated the talent pool of professional boxing. the talent isnt going that direction anymore, nor are knowledgeable coaches and trainers, now with all the old great minds gone the sport has been in rough shape for awhile.Listened to a Dan Carlin interview with a boxing historian called "Boxing with Ghosts"...they made a very convincing argument that boxing is different when it comes to the "different eras" thing.
Not trying to start debate, just honest question: Where is the line drawn between draft dodger and contientious objector? Ali actually reported to the location when he received his papers and refused to sign citing his religious beliefs as an objector. It wasn't like he tried to evade it. I think of a draft dodger as one who doesn't show up, hides from it, makes excuses, or pays a doctor to make up a physical impairment.
Personally, I have a hard time condemning those who avoided Vietnam in hindsight both for how awful it was and the questions surrounding whether or not we should've been there in the first place.
Sometimes draft dodgers are right/noble. I have great respect for the Russians draft dodging the war in Ukraine right now for instance.
I'm sure Ted Williams was. I read a book, can't remember which one, that talked about in their times they had bowls of uppers sitting in bowls in the middle of the locker room for the players. Those drugs should be labelled as PED's as well. Just saying.Dude mentioned the 1930's in attempt to draw an offensive corollary to the Steroid era.
Kids literally play year round from middle school on now. They hit non-stop. Those dudes, Kirk Caminiti, Barry Bonds, Mcgoon, Sosa, Bagwell were head and SHOULDERS above anything someone from that era. Imagine Ted Williams doped up, there would be murders.
Only going into his 3rd year and imagine the criticism White would've received if he'd started his "buddy" off that high.
I get it. Billy Napier in his 1st year was at 7.3 million though. I just think we are going to look like idiots if someone comes calling Josh Heupel for 8 to 9 million a year. I personally believe he is worth that much, plus it would be insurance for us if someone came calling.
